Ritchie, Jackson and Pierce set to come to Green Bay in 2014

GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Bullfrogs have announced the signing of catcher Jamie Ritchie from Belmont, freshman catcher Daniel Jackson from Long Beach State and junior  infielder Mikole Pierce from UW-Whitewater. Pierce is a De Pere native. 

Jamie Ritchie – C, 6’2”, 185 lbs (R/R), Junior

The Belmont junior has been an all-around threat at the dish for the Bruins this year.  He is among the team leaders in multiple categories starting with his solid line of .285/.418/.431. He adds that to a resume that includes 10 doubles, three home runs, 21 runs batted in, six stolen bases, and a 21-to-18 BB-K ratio in 38 games started on the season. Ritchie is currently on track for his third straight season of at least 44 starts. His sophomore season he accumulated a .221 average, 27 runs, three home runs, and 30 RBI over 45 starts while his freshman campaign he posted a .203 average, 23 runs, and 16 RBI in 44 starts. The Buford, Georgia, native led his high school squad to a Georgia state championship.

Daniel Jackson – C, 6’2”, 195 lbs (R/R), Freshman

Jackson has been solid in his limited playing time for Long Beach State. He has managed to rack up a .207/.258/.207 line with two RBI in eight games started. The Pleasanton, California, native is a former 2nd team All-League selection as a high school junior and helped his Dons win the North Coast Section championship. He was recruited by Washington, Arizona, Cal Poly, and UC-Davis out of high school and is currently majoring in business management.

Mikole Pierce – INF, 6’3” (R/R), Junior

The 2013 regular season conference champions, UW-Whitewater, sport one of the best players in the vaunted Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in Pierce. He currently sits in the top-5 of the WIAC conference in seven different categories including slugging percentage, runs scored, hits, RBI, and total bases. He sports an impressive line of .433/.504/.691 to go along with his seven stolen bases, five doubles, four triples, four home runs, and 29 RBI in 25 games started. He follows up a sophomore campaign where he was named to the first-team All-WIAC and second team All-Midwest Region teams after racking up a .391/.464/.669 line with six home runs and team-high 48 RBI. The De Pere, Wisconsin native is a former two-time All-State selection who wears number seven in honor of the great Mickey Mantle.
