(Duluth, MN)— – The Duluth Huskies have announced today that they have signed three new players from University of West Florida Argonauts. Joining the Huskies for the 2014 campaign are Chase Kiefer, Josh McLaney, and Kevin Peters.

Chase Kiefer, a 5-foot-11 inch 170 lbs. sophomore out of Pensacola, FL. He has been a mainstay in the Argo lineup this season, He has seen action in both the infield and outfield. We will look for Chase to be valuable utility player for us this summer. He has hit in the top of the order and bottom of the order because of his speed and has 17 stolen bases this season.

Josh McLaney, a 6-foot-6 inch 185 lbs. sophomore righthander from Laurel Hills, FL, has emerged as a mainstay in the UWF bullpen. He is sporting an ERA of 1.56 in 17.1 innings with a record of 1-1.

Kevin Peters, a 5-foot-11 inch 165 lbs. junior lefthander from Orlando, FL. He has seen quality innings for the Argos this season. He has pitched both out of the bullpen as well as in the starting role. He sports a 3.97 ERA in 22.2 innings with a 3-2 record. 

“We are excited to start our relationship with the University of West Florida, they are a program that produces quality player’s year in and year out and we are looking forward to having Kiefer, McLaney, and Peters in our organization,” said Field Manager Daniel Hersey. "We are extremely happy to be sending our players to play for such a first class Coach in Daniel Hersey and The Duluth Huskies.
