Mequon, WI – The Lakeshore Chinooks have filled their last two roster spots with two pitching prospects.  Luke Lowery (Southern Mississippi) and Bryce Beeler (Memphis) will add depth to the Lakeshore bullpen.

Luke Lowery returns for his second season at Lakeshore after posting a 2.95 era in 39.2 innings, mostly in relief for the Chinooks. Luke struck out 29 and walked 17. A native of Sumrall, MS, Luke was named a Louisville Slugger All-American in 2011 after helping lead his team to its fourth consecutive state championship and is a key cog in the USM bullpen. This season the red-shirt sophomore has registered a 2.57 ERA in 19 appearances with nine strikeouts and only two walks.

Bryce Beeler is a versatile player from Knoxville, TN where he put up big numbers at Halls High School, setting school records with a .570 batting average and 20 doubles. As a Tiger freshman he started 11 games at second base, as a sophomore started 46 times in right field, while this year he also began pitching out of the Memphis bullpen. In his junior season, Bryce has notched eight saves in relief and will get a chance early to pitch out of the Chinooks pen. He has struck out 31 batters and walked only eight in 25.1 innings and has posted a 2.89 ERA. As a hitter Beeler is batting .253 with seven RBI and four doubles.

The Chinooks are excited to welcome Lowery back and to give the up and coming Beeler a shot to gain more experience as he develops as a reliever.

The Chinooks will play their 2014 home opener on Thurday, May 29 at 6:35pm against the Mankato Moondogs.
