Fans can vote through May 22 via social media

Eau Claire, Wis. – After a week of many name submissions for the new mascot of the Eau Claire Express, three have been chosen for a fan vote to determine the character’s name. The new mascot unveiling will be a key event in kicking off the team’s 10th Anniversary season in the Northwoods League. The winner will receive a General Admission season ticket and a chance to participate in the unveiling ceremony.

While the design of the new mascot will be kept confidential until Opening Night, the team did reveal last week that the concept for the design would be similar to that of its current mascot, Trax.

The three names that will be part of the fan vote are Trix, Diamond and Ruby.  There is an online link to the poll that will administer the final vote. That link can be found below and also on the Eau Claire Express Facebook and Twitter pages. Voting will run until May 21. The winning name will be announced on May 22 and the mascot will make its official debut on Opening Night. The winner of the contest will be selected at random from those fans who submitted the winning name.
