Kenosha, Wis. – The Kenosha Kingfish will welcome former Madison Mallards Public Address announcer Aaron Sims to Simmons Field in the same role for their inaugural 2014 season.  Sims retired from the Mallards after the 2014 season. Although this will be his first season in Kenosha, this season marks Sims' eleventh year in the Northwoods League. He began with the Madison Mallards in 2004 as a radio play-by-play announcer, and became the PA Announcer in 2005.  He is currently the play-by-play announcer for the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League.

With background in standup comedy, play-by-play in baseball, hockey, and football, and as the host of various radio shows, Sims has combined this experience to become one of the best announcers in minor league baseball.  Kingfish General Manager Jake McGhee worked with Sims for three seasons in Madison. “Aaron is the best in the business. There is no one better and bringing energy to the crowd while mixing in a professional approach and some humor.” McGhee said. “He will be a major part of the affordable, family entertainment we are bringing to Simmons Field during all 36 Kingfish games this summer.”

The Kingfish have promised a ballpark experience unlike any other and the talented PA announcer is poised to help them deliver on that promise. "I'm very excited to help start something special in Kenosha," said Sims. "It's hard to guarantee wins and losses in any sport, but we can try our best to show the baseball fans a good time. We're going to have fun."

During the Mallards offseason he has worked with the Milwaukee Admirals hockey team as their radio broadcaster for the last nine years while also updating content on the team's blog. In addition to that role, he also serves as the head of the organization's community outreach program.  In addition to that, last season Sims filled in for the NHL’s Nashville Predators as their radio play-by-play announcer.
