Woodchucks Hire Jordan Bischel as new Field Manager

WAUSAU, WI – The Wisconsin Woodchucks, a member of the Northwood’s League, are pleased to announce the hiring of Jordan Bischel as the new Field Manager.  Bischel is replacing former manger Jameel Ziadeh, who lead the Woodchucks to a playoff birth in the 2014 season.  Ziadeh left the team after recently accepting a coaching opportunity at the Hofstra University (Long Island, New York).

Jordan is currently the Head Baseball Coach for Northwood University (Midland, MI), prior to that Bischel was both the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Athletics Director at Midland University.  Under his guidance, the Warriors won 43 games in the 2014 season, a Great Plains Athletic Conference record.  Bischel’s team also earned 74 wins over a 2-year stretch, a record for that time span at Midland.

Although new to the Woodchuck’s organization, this is not the first time Jordan Bischel has been a part of the Northwood’s League.  From January 2009 to November 2012, Bischel had coached the Green Bay Bullfrogs.  During his 4 seasons in Green Bay, Bischel collected 132 wins.  In 2012, he led a team that gathered 6 all-star selections, the most in the league that year.

Woodchuck’s General Manager Ryan Treu is excited to bring someone with experience to the lead the Woodchucks through the Northwood’s League season. “When we looked at Jordan’s experience and the level of success he has had with his teams we were eager to have him lead our team to a successful 2015 season,” said Ryan Treu “we have only been working together for a short time but we have already put together a very talented team on paper for next summer.”
