Right-Handed Pitcher from Barton County CC joins the Honkers

 

(Rochester, Minn.)-  The Rochester Honkers Baseball Club announced today the signing 6-foot, 190- pound sophomore right-handed pitcher Alex Evans from Barton County Community College in Great Bend, Kan.

Currently Evans has a perfect 0.00 ERA in his four appearances on the season.  In 10.0 innings pitched, he has earned a team high three saves, with 11 strikeouts and scattered six hits.

In his 2014 freshman season, Evans made 22 appearances for the Cougars.  He ended the season with a 3-2 record with a 2.54 ERA.  Evans struck out 65, walked 11 in 46.0 innings, and collected seven of the team’s eight saves.  He allowed only 13 earned runs.   His performance landed him a Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference All Conference Western Division Team honorable mention.

Evans graduated from Mulvane High School where his four year baseball career included 70 games played, an overall batting average of .372, 83 hits, and 53 RBIs. He finished his high school pitching career with an overall 2.02 ERA and 12 wins.

The Rochester Honkers 22nd season begins on May 26th when the Mankato MoonDogs bark into Mayo Field for a 7:05pm first pitch.  Season Tickets, Bonus Books, Suites and Patios are now available.
