Rox Sign One from Boston College and Two from Southeastern Louisiana

St. Cloud, MN – The St. Cloud Rox announced the signing of three more players for the 2015 season today.  The list includes Michael Strem from Boston College along with Webb Bobo and Domenick Carlini from Southeastern Louisiana University.

Strem is a 5’11” sophomore who has spent time playing first base, outfield and pitching for Boston College.  He has started all 26 games for the Eagles this season and holds a .330 batting average with 13 doubles and 12 runs batted in. Strem has a .986 fielding percentage this season committing only two errors in 142 chances.  Originally from Burlingame, California, he was named the Western Catholic Athletic League Player of the Year, Central Coast Section Player of the Year, and Bay Area Player of the Year while also receiving a Rawlings High School Gold Glove in 2013 at St. Francis High School.

Bobo, a 6’3” sophomore at Southeastern Louisiana University, plays primarily first base and outfield.  He currently leads the Lions with a .366 batting average.  Last summer Bobo played for the DC Grays in the Cal Ripken Collegiate League where he was selected as a midseason All-Star and earned First Team All-League honors at first base.  He finished the summer as the Cal Ripken Collegiate League batting champion with a .365 batting average. 

Carlini, also at Southeastern Louisiana University, is a 6’2” junior left-handed pitcher.  He has appeared in eight games so far this season for the Lions, throwing 15.1 innings while earning two saves and striking out 22 batters.  Carlini spent last season at Northwest Mississippi Community College where he threw 57.2 innings while posting a 2.91 earned run average and leading the team with 59 strike outs.

Field Manager Augie Rodriguez, as well as the Rox organization will continue to build the roster for the 2015 season.

The Rox home opener is Saturday, May 30th at Joe Faber Field as the Rox take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 7:05p.m.  There will be a post-game fireworks show presented by Coborn’s.
