Bombers Unveil the “Poptarko” as New Stadium Offering for 2015

Previous Creations the Twinkie Dog (2013) and L’eggo my Eggo Burger (2014) Have Received National Publicity

Battle Creek, Mich. – The Battle Creek Bombers today have unveiled their new concession concoction for 2015 – dubbed the “Poptarko”.  In previous seasons, the team has garnered national headlines for their creations of the Twinkie Dog in 2013, and again with the L’eggo my Eggo Burger in 2014.  Outlets such as ESPN, MLB Network and even Good Morning America have picked up the team’s over-the-top and often wacky concession items.

The “Poptarko” is essentially a double-decker taco with a unique Battle Creek inspired twist.  Beginning with a soft shell taco, the taco is coated in maple syrup sourced from Michigan, as well as cheese.  The soft shell is then wrapped around a hard corn taco shell.  The taco is then built with BBQ Pulled Pork – also sourced from Michigan – and even includes a full Brown Sugar and Cinnamon Pop-Tart, which is broken in half to better fit in the taco.  For toppings, the Bombers suggest real crumbled bacon, a touch of maple syrup, additional cheese, and of course – crumbled up pieces of Pop-Tarts.

The Poptarko, for the first time ever, will be available for purchase this Opening Day, May 26th at 7:05 PM at the Bombers main concession stand.  As an added bonus, for any fan purchasing a new mini-plan or season ticket over the course of the next seven days – will receive a voucher for one complimentary Poptarko to celebrate the announcement.

Battle Creek opens their season on May 26th as they host the defending champions, the Lakeshore Chinooks, right here at CO Brown Stadium. First Pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM. Tickets, Mini-Plan information and Group Outings are now available by calling the front office at (269)-962-0735 or by emailing info@battlecreekbombers.com
