McPherson Joins Talented Pitching Staff
Waterloo, IA – The Waterloo Bucks have announced that left-handed pitcher Carson McPherson has signed to play with the team for the 2015 season. McPherson, a sophomore at Murray State College, is the 26th player to be named to Waterloo’s roster for the squad’s 21st season.
This season for the Aggies, McPherson owns a 6-2 record with a 3.73 ERA. The 6’0”, 195-pounder has 59 strikeouts in 50.2 innings pitched and has one complete game in 11 appearances.
“Carson is a lefty that throws hard,” said Bucks general manager Dan Corbin. “He’s averaging over 10 strikeouts per game this season and we expect him to fit in our starting rotation.”
McPherson transferred to Murray State College from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock where he redshirted in 2014. The Ardmore, Oklahoma native previously played at Seminole State Junior College.
Born August 15, 1993, McPherson attended Ardmore High School where he was named the Southern Oklahoma Player of the Year twice. Carson is the son of Michael and Jana McPherson.
The Bucks, the winningest team in all of summer-collegiate baseball over the past two years, will open the 2015 season on the road versus the Alexandria Blue Anchors on May 26, but return to Waterloo for their home opener versus the Mankato MoonDogs on May 28.
