Mequon, WI –The Lakeshore Chinooks have announced the additions of two area athletes in right-handed pitcher Brian Keller (UW-Milwaukee), who prepped at Germantown High School and catcher Jake Kolasinski (UW-Parkside), a New Berlin, WI native who played high school baseball for Brookfield Academy.
Brian Keller is having on an outstanding junior season on the mound for Scott Doffek’s Milwaukee Panthers. The 6’4 righty leads his team and is second amongst Horizon League pitchers in innings pitched with 74.1 and strikeouts with 58. While walking only 14 batters, Keller has recorded an ERA of 3.51. As a weekend starter in 2014, Keller led the team with 13 starts and 82.1 innings pitched and posted a 4.26 earned run average, compiling a hard-luck 2-7 record. The Germantown native will be playing for his second Northwoods League team after pitching for the La Crosse Loggers in 2014.
Jake Kolasinski is also coming off a terrific sophomore season for the Division II Parkside Rangers in which he has led his team with a .321 batting average and 33 RBIs in 40 games, as well as seven home runs and nine doubles. His slugging percentage of .545 and on-base average of .400 also lead the team. The right-hander was a two-time player of the year in baseball for the Blue Knights of Brookfield Academy while accruing a total of nine All-Midwest Classic Conference honors between baseball and football.
You can catch your first glimpse of the 2015 Chinooks roster on May 28th when Lakeshore takes on the Kenosha Kingfish at 6:35pm. The first 1,000 fans will receive a 2014 championship pennant (courtesy of Port Washington State Bank) and a 2015 magnet schedule (courtesy of Professional Supply). On Opening Day, there will also be a special pre-game championship celebrate. The championship celebration week will continue on Saturday, May 30th with Championship Trophy Gill bobblehead for the first 1,000 fans (sponsored by GS Design).
