The Thunder Bay Border Cats have added four more players to their roster for the 2015 Northwoods League season

The recent signings include pitcher Johnny York, catcher Nate Nolan, pitcher Ty Weist, and outfielder Joe Gellenbeck.

York and Nolan are teammates at St. Mary's College near Oakland, CA.  

York is a 6'0", 175 pound sophomore from Walnut Creek, CA.  In 13 games this season, the lefthander has a record of 7-4 with a 3.30 earned run average in 13 starts.

Nolan is a 6'1", 210 pound sophomore from Reno, NV.  He's played in 25 games this year for the Gaels and is batting .304 with two home runs and 15 runs batted in

Weist is a righthander from Castle Rock, CO., and attends New York's Columbia University, where he is a teammate of former Border Cats Robb Paller and Jordan Serena.  The 6'1", 195 pound sophomore has appeared in 12 games this season and is 3-1 with two saves and a 2.39 ERA.

Gellenbeck is a 6'5", 220 pound sophomore from Lebanon, OH, and plays his collegiate baseball at Xavier University in Cincinnati.  Gellenbeck has started in 8 games this season and is hitting .189 with six runs batted in.   

The Border Cats open the 2015 Northwoods League season on Tuesday, May 26th, versus the Eau Claire Express at 7:05pm at Tbaytel Park.  Season tickets and flex-packs are now on sale by calling (807) 766-CATS.

The Border Cats are a member of the finest developmental league for elite college baseball players, the Northwoods League.
