St. Cloud, MN- The St. Cloud Rox announced the signing of the final seven players to their roster today. The list includes St. Cloud native Reed Pfannenstein from North Dakota State, Carson Shaddy from the University of Arkansas, Hunter Haley from the University of Oklahoma, Chris Farish of Wake Forest University, Joe Tietjen from University of North Carolina-Asheville, Jesse Anderson from Indian Hills Community College, Ryan Kokora from Paradise Valley Community College.
Pfannenstein, a 6’4” pitcher, pitched locally at Rocori High School. At North Dakota State he has pitched 41.1 innings with 29 strike outs. Last season he led the Bison to the NCAA Tournament while being named the Summit League tournament MVP. He was a member of the 2013 Rocori team that was the Minnesota Class 3A state runner-ups.
Shaddy, a 5’10” catcher, has played in 37 games in this season and has a .338 batting average for the University of Arkansas. He has three homeruns and has driven in 18 runs while posting a slugging percentage of .519. In high school Shaddy was named the 2013 Arkansas Gatorade Player of the Year and was selected to the USA Today All-Arkansas Team.
Haley is a 5’10” junior outfielder who has played in 46 games and started 43 for the University of Oklahoma. On the season he has four home runs and 21 runs driven in. In 65 chances he has committed only one error. Last summer Haley participated in the TD Ameritrade Home Run Derby in Omaha, Nebraska.
Farish is a 6’4” right handed pitcher for the Demon Deacons. He has appeared in seven games this season. Farish has seven strikeouts over five innings for Wake Forest. In high school the Houston, Texas native was a finalist for the Texas Rangers Area Code Team and pitched in the Texas Scouts Association Game.
Tietjen, a 6’0” outfielder has started all 54 games for the University of North Carolina-Asheville in 2015 where he had a batting average of .302. He leads the team in runs (52), doubles (14) and steals (10).
Anderson is a 6’3” pitcher from Indian Hills Community College. This season he pitched in 11 games, starting five for a total of 22.2 innings. He struck out 17 batters in five starts. Last season with the Warriors he posted a 2-0 record with a 2.05 ERA.
Kokora, a 6’4” pitcher from Paradise Valley Community College, pitched in five games this spring. Over six innings pitched he struck out seven batters. Following his senior year at Fairview High School (Boulder, CO) where he posted a 9-9 record and 1.38 earned run average he was drafted in the 2014 MLB Draft by the Atlanta Braves in the 35th round.
The Rox home opener is Saturday, May 30th at Joe Faber Field as the Rox take on the Thunder Bay Border Cats at 7:05p.m. There will be a post-game fireworks show presented by Coborn’s.
