The Mallards dropped their first game of the 2015 season due to an impressive performance on the mound by Lakeshore Chinooks starter Gavin Downs. 

Downs dazzled in the Chinooks 1-0 victory against the hot-hitting Madison Mallards, as he threw a complete game shutout, allowing only five hits and struck out five as he moved to 1-0 on the season. A junior from Purdue, Downs lowered his ERA to a terrific 0.60 over 15 innings pitched. 

The Chinooks will look for the series sweep tomorrow as they take on the Mallards at 6:35 PM.
