Alexandria edged out the series sweep of the Eau Claire Express Tuesday led by a perfect night at the plate by their Center Fielder Josh Merrigan. 

Batting in the three-hole for the Blue Anchors, Merrigan was outstanding with the bat, as he had three hits, one of them being a three-run home run in the 3rd inning, two walks and scored three times. A 6'2 junior who attends North Carolina, Merrigan has been a catalyst for the Alexandria lineup with his .320 batting average, got on base in seven of his last nine plate appearances in the series against the Express.

Merrigan and the Anchors will try to improve upon their 2-5 record as they host the St. Cloud Rox tomorrow at 7:05 PM.
