The Mankato MoonDogs won their third straight game last night, shutting out the Border Cats 9-0, led behind a spectacular performance off the mound from their ace Grant Hamilton.
The righty completely dominated the Thunder Bay lineup, throwing seven strong innings, allowing no runs, and just five hits, while striking out eight batters. A senior from Oklahoma City University, Hamilton has been untouchable so far this season, as he has refused to give up an earned run through 19 innings pitched, serving as the league-leader in ERA. Hamilton has now struck out eight batters consecutively in his last three starts, possessing a total of 26 strikeouts, which is third best in the Northwoods League.
The MoonDogs will look to push their winning streak to four games on Monday when they travel to Waterloo to face off against the Bucks at 7:05 PM.
