The Battle Creek Bombers shocked the Mallards, taking the series opener led by a terrific pitching performance by their starter Jordan Knutson.

Knutson turned in a dazzling performance, going 7 1/3 innings, striking out a season-high eleven batters, allowing just one run on three hits. The sophomore from Missouri State recorded his first victory of the season, lowering his ERA to a solid 3.62, and striking out a total of 23 batters through 22 1/3 innings of work. 

Knutson and the Bombers will look for the series sweep as they face off again tomorrow at 4:05 PM.
