Wisconsin improved to 4-8 in the second half Tuesday, upsetting the South-leading Kingfish 6-0, carried by starter Devin Skapura's sensational pitching performance.
Skapura absolutely dominated the star-studded Kenosha lineup, falling just an out away from a complete game, registering 8 2/3 innings of work, allowing just four hits and tying a season-high with seven strikeouts. The right-hander from Texas A&M Corpus Christi has been a force in the Woodchucks rotation, but has fallen victim to a lack of run support, as his 1-3 record does not do justice to his 1.94 ERA and 38 strikeouts through 41 2/3 innings of work throughout the season.
The Chucks look for the series sweep tomorrow, hosting Kenosha again at 6:35 PM.
