The Stingers moved into second place in the North Division, taking care of Waterloo by a score of 11-1, taking the series sweep on the road, carried by their starter Brian Kehner.
Kehner was terrific off the mound tonight, throwing seven innings, allowing one run, however it was unearned, two hits and striking out six batters, while picking up his third victory of the season. The lefty from Presbyterian has been a pivotal part of the Willmar rotation, with a 3-1 record, 1.98 ERA, and striking out 31 batters through 36 1/3 total innings. Kehner has been one of the hottest pitchers in the month of July, giving up just five runs over 25 1/3 innings this month.
Kehner and the Stingers travel to Mankato for a two-game series tomorrow beginning at 6:05 PM.
