Thunder Bay snapped the North-leading St. Cloud Rox five game win streak, triumphing in 16 innings 4-3, splitting the series. Jimmy Murphy was instrumental in the Border Cats victory, taking home Pitcher of the Night honors.
Murphy entered the game with two outs in the 7th inning, and would go on to pitch 8 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, allowing three hits and a walk, but received a no-decision as his team walked off an inning after he left the game. Murphy has been dominant in his last three appearances, holding a 17 inning scoreless streak, while owning a 1.92 ERA on the season, holding opposing batters to just .179 batting average.
