The Green Bay Bullfrogs swept their day/night doubleheader against their South Division opponent Wisconsin Woodchucks, taking the first game 5-4, and the nightcap 3-0. Starter Sam Brunner was terrific in game two of their two-game series, winning Pitcher of the Night for the second time this month.
Brunner dominated the Chucks lineup throughout, throwing seven innings, giving up no runs and just two-hits and struck out seven, leading the way to his fifth victory of the season. The big righty from Dayton has been a reliable arm amongst the Bullfrogs rotation with a 5-3 record, 2.78 ERA and 58 strikeouts over 55 total innings of work. Brunner has been one of the hottest pitchers in the league during the month of July, punching out 36 batters over 35 1/3 innings.
The Bullfrogs will look to make a late push to clinch a South Division playoff spot, hosting Madison for a crucial two game series starting at 7:05 PM.
