The Lakeshore Chinooks handed La Crosse a tough loss Saturday, as they played spoiler, defeating the Loggers 13-7, led behind their 3rd baseman Zarley Zalewski, who collected his first Player of the Night for 2015.
Zalewski was terrific in the series opener, going 3-for-4, with three doubles, driving in four runs and scoring twice. The junior from Kent State has been a consistent force a top the Lakeshore lineup all season, with a .298 batting average, 1 home run and 29 RBIs, totaling 57 hits on the year, which is good for fourth on his team.
Lakeshore will seek the series sweep of La Crosse Sunday, as both teams face off at 5:05 PM.
