The Loggers took their series opener at home against Kalamazoo on Monday, cruising to an early victory and winning 7-0, led by a commanding performance from newly acquired pitcher Chris Tate. 

Tate earned Pitcher of the Night in just his first start on the team, tossing eight scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out eight, advancing to 1-0. The sophomore left-hander has been sufficient in his first week as a Logger, striking out 10 batters through 10 2/3 innings and possessing a 2.53 ERA.

La Crosse will pick back up action on Wednesday, hosting the Growlers again at 7:05 PM.
