Green Bay, Wis.- Laren Eustace, a sophomore outfielder from Indiana University, joins freshman pitcher, Dakota Klein, as the newest Bullfrogs to join Skip Handelsman’s club.

A prized prospect from area Bay Port High School, Dakota Klein is now a member of the Texas A&M Aggies, currently ranked #1 in USA Today’s coaches poll. Klein will sit out the 2016 season, his first as a member of the SEC power.

In his high school career, Klein posted consistently fantastic numbers, and helped his team reach the State Tournament all four seasons. His bellwether junior season saw him finish with a 0.87 ERA with 42 strikeouts in 40.2 innings pitched. Green Bay Press Gazette named him Gatorade Player of the Year.

“Dakota was a great high school player in this area and we are excited to have his type of talent on our team,” said third year Green Bay Field Manager, Skip Handelsman. “Texas A&M is consistently one of the best programs in the nation, and he will fit nicely on our pitching staff.”

Eustace, a native of Batavia, Illinois, has already made an impact as one of the Big Ten’s best emerging outfielders. In over 50 at-bats and 12 starts for the Hoosiers in left field, Eustace has jettisoned to Indiana’s lead-off spot. A speed demon who leads Indiana in stolen bases, Eustace also is hitting .306 with a pair of home runs.

He has racked up eye-opening, 2016 numbers amid a competitive lineup that led Indiana to an appearance in the 2015 NCAA regionals in Nashville. That season as a freshman, he appeared in 29 games, including eight starts. A 2014 graduate of Batavia high school, Eustace was rated the ninth best prospect in the state (51st overall) by Prep Baseball Report. He also notched the rating as best outfielder.

“Eustace will be a big part of our lineup,” said Handelsman. “He has some power, speed, and I think he’s going to be a fan favorite in Green Bay this summer.”

The Bullfrogs will open up the 2016 season at home on May 31st against the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.  Group tickets, season tickets and 7-game packages are on sale now.  The Bullfrogs off-season hours are Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm.  For more information please call the office at (920) 497-7225 or visit ww.greenbaybullfrogs.com.
