Mequon, WI – The key to every summer in the Northwoods League is securing, maintaining, and managing young pitchers who are still developing on the mound.  The Lakeshore Chinooks are like every other team in the league and have searched high and low to find arms that can blossom during the long summer.  Eddy Morgan has announced the addition of three pitchers from various levels of college baseball – Tyler Hasper (Heartland Community College), David Lemasters (Lake Erie College), and Alex Rogers (North Dakota State).

Tyler Hasper is having a sensational sophomore season for Heartland Community College.  The 2014 graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School in Naperville, IL is 7-0 with a 1.54 ERA in 41 innings of work for the HCC Hawks, a tradition-rich junior college program that is targeting a trip to this year’s NJCAA World Series.  The right-hander has struck out an impressive 59 batters, while walking only 15 and holding opponents to a .177 batting average.  Hasper brings previous Northwoods League experience after pitching last summer for Alexandria.

David Lemasters will join Lake Erie teammate Lucas Raley in Mequon this summer as the Cortland, OH native looks to test his arm against Northwoods hitters.  As a sophomore this year, Lemasters leads the Storm with 59.2 innings pitched and a team-best 4.37 ERA, striking out 68 while walking 28 in ten starts.  Lemasters starred for Lakeview High School where he was a three-year letterwinner and all-conference selection and was named team MVP in both his junior and senior seasons.

Alex Rogers, a native of Nanaimo, British Columbia, transferred to North Dakota State after two seasons playing for Trinidad State Community College where he posted a 7-6 record and 3.70 ERA in 15 appearances and 75 innings of work with 54 strikeouts and eight walks in his sophomore year.  Making the step up to Division I NDSU, Rogers has started eight games and pitched 32.2 innings for the Bison.  With a 1-2 record, Rogers has struck out 22 and walked nine.
