Wausau, WIS- The Wisconsin Woodchucks are pleased to announce the signing of two players from Texas A&M Corpus Christi to the Woodchucks 2017 roster. Infielder/Pitcher Jackson Owens and LHP Korey Rasure will be playing for the Woodchucks this summer.

Owens, a 6’ 1” Junior played for Florida State as a Freshman, before transferring to Howard College for his sophomore campaign and landing at Texas A&M Corpus Christi this year. Originally from Corinth, TX, Owens batted .345 in 2016 with 11 home runs, 3 triples and 3 doubles. Owens struck out 17 in 15.2 innings pitched for Howard College. Prior to his sophomore campaign Owens had a .286 batting average as a freshman at Florida state.                                                                              

Korey Rasure, originally from Midland, TX is a 6’ 1” junior who previously pitched for Cisco College. Rasure had a 6-2 record as a sophomore, appearing in 11 games. In 53.2 IP Rasure struck out 55, an average of 9.2 strikeouts per game.

The Wisconsin Woodchucks’ home opener is Wednesday, May 31, 2017. All ticket packages and group tickets are now on sale for the upcoming 2017 season. The Woodchucks are also excited to be hosting the 2017 Northwoods League All-Star Game, presented by Ascension.
