BISMARCK, ND – The Larks have signed Quinn Irey, a Bismarck native who plays catcher for the University of Jamestown. He has played the past three seasons for the Jamestown Jimmies batting in 51 RBI’s in 2016, 4 home runs, and a 0.377 batting average.

Growing up in Bismarck, he attended Bismarck High School and was talented in multiple sports, including two state titles for the Demons, one for hockey and another in baseball both in 2014. He’s also looking to “getting a chance to play at the newly renovated ballpark”, playing in front of friends and family at his old high school ballpark.

Quinn originally heard about the Northwoods League from two of his former Jimmie team mates. Both Ryan Sheely and Tanner Dahl played for the Mankato Moondogs in 2015. Quin learned from Ryan and Tanner that “the Northwoods League has a lot of great players, and you can’t mess around when getting ready to play every day.”

Some of Quinn’s goals as a catcher for the larks is “every day to learn something new.” From the talented coaching staff this summer, he’s looking forward to “pick away at everyone’s brain for both the hitters and pitchers.”

Irey grew up watching the Northwoods League, spending his summers in St. Cloud watching the River Bats. “In St. Cloud; I was born there and grew up watching the team play. Now, I’m looking forward to heading back and actually playing them this season.”

You can catch Quinn this season playing in his home ballpark by contacting the Larks front office at (701)-557-7600. There are also 7-Game Packs still available by logging on to larksbaseball.com, and filling out the 7-Pack form on the team website.
