KENOSHA, Wis. –The Kingfish have announced the signing of three Florida Gators for the 2017 Season. Two right-handed pitchers, Billy McKay and Nick Long, and outfielder/right-handed pitcher Austin Bodrato will be joining the Kingfish this summer following their freshman season at Florida.

McKay stands 5’11” and 205 pounds and is a native of Plant City, Florida. He joined the Gators after a stellar high school career. In 156.1 career high school innings, McKay held a remarkable 1.16 ERA with 180 strikeouts and just 31 walks. The right-hander also threw two no-hitters during his junior year. He signed his letter of intent to Florida in November, 2015.

Long is a 6’0”, 195-pound righty from Sarasota, Florida. He came to Florida as the sixth-ranked right-handed pitcher in Florida, and the No. 23-ranked overall player. He was a talented two-way player in high school, batting .415 with four homers in his senior season, but opted to stay on the mound heading to college. As a freshman, he has appeared in two of Florida’s 13 games this season.

Bodrato is a 6’0”, 195-pound, left-handed hitting outfielder and right-handed pitcher from Montgomery, New York. He chose to pursue a college career at Florida even after being drafted in the 24th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 2016 draft. Like Long and McKay, Bodrato was one of his state’s top right-handed high school pitchers, and is listed as a two-way player at Florida. He batted .412 with eight home runs in his high school career, and has appeared in one game in the outfield for Florida this season.
