Lyle and Albert Lea Natives to Join the Flock
(Rochester Minn.) – The Rochester Honkers announced today that Lyle, Minn. native Jordan Hart, and Albert Lea product, Johnathan Fleek, have signed temporary contracts with the Rochester Honkers for the 2017 season.
Hart is a 6-foot-1, 195-pound sophomore outfielder from Minnesota State Mankato. He is currently hitting .393 (second on the team) for the 13-4 Mavericks. Hart leads the team in RBIs (16), Doubles (6), and second in home runs with two. Hart has started every game for the Mavericks in right field and hits third or fourth in the lineup. As a freshman, Hart hit .320 ranking him 5th on the team. He started 47 of 50 games, collecting 55 hits in 172 at bats.
Hart graduated from Lyle Public High School in 2015, where he earned all-conference and academic all-conference honors three times. He was the team’s offensive player of the year and team MVP in 2014, after hitting .539. He also played football and basketball.
Fleek is a 5-foot-7, 165-pound junior infielder from Western Illinois. He currently is leading the Fighting Leathernecks with his .349 batting average. Through 22 games, Fleek also leads the team in RBIs (11) and second in on base percentage with .432.
Fleek started his collegiate career at Ellsworth College in Iowa Falls, Iowa. He finished his sophomore season hitting .335 with five home runs, 33 RBIs and seven stolen bases. As a freshman, he hit .326 with 24 RBIs and six stolen bases.
The Rochester Honkers 24th season begins on Tuesday, May 30th when the team hosts the Mankato Moondogs in their home opener at Mayo Field at 7:05 pm. The NEW 5-Game Packs are available now!
