Green Bay signs Connor Wollersheim and Alex Hintz

The Bullfrogs have announced the signings of two for the 2017 season. Connor Wollersheim, a left handed pitcher at Kent State, and Alex Hintze, a left handed pitcher at the University of Connecticut.

Wollersheim, a 6’0”, 180-pound sophomore left handed pitcher from Neenah, Wisconsin will be joining the Bullfrogs after his second season with Kent State. Last season with the Golden Flashes Wollersheim started eight games, finished with a 3-2 record, struck out 25 and finished the year with a 3.10 ERA. His biggest highlight of his freshman campaign was shutting down Ohio State in 5.2 innings pitched allowing just 3 hits and tossing four strikeouts. He will also be joining Kent State teammate and Bullfrog veteran Brad Hamilton this year in Green Bay.

So far this season with Kent State Wollersheim is off to a great start. He’s appeared in five games with two starts and is currently 1-0 on the year. In 19.2 innings pitched he’s posted 15 strikeouts and has just a 0.92 ERA on the year. Kent State is off to a solid start as they are 11-6 on the year.

Hintze, a 6’0”, 211-pound redshirt freshman left handed pitcher from Oshkosh, Wisconsin will also be joining the Bullfrogs after Connecticut’s 2017 campaign. Hintze played high school ball at Oshkosh North for four years where he also lettered in football for three. Last summer Hintze spent his time in Madison, where he appeared in 17 games for the Mallards of the Northwoods League. He logged 26.2 innings, 17 strikeouts and registered a 1-1 record. In 10 of his 17 appearances he did not give up an earned run, finishing the summer off with a respectable 4.05 ERA.

This season with Connecticut, Hintze has three appearances, with one inning pitched, but has yet to give up an earned run.
