KENOSHA, Wis. – The Kenosha Kingfish have signed two sophomore to their pitching staff for 2017. Left-hander Davis Schwab and right-hander Justin Hasek will be joining the Kingfish squad for the 2017 summer.

Schwab is a 6-foot-4, 215-pound sophomore at Johnson County Community College who has pitched 50.2 innings for the Cavaliers this spring, good for second on the team. Schwab is also second on the team with a sparkling 1.95 ERA, and leads the team with 58 strikeouts. Of his nine starts, four have ended in complete games.

Originally from Overland Park, Kansas, Schwab transferred to Johnson County after spending his freshman year of college baseball at Kansas State. There, he appeared in four games, allowing three earned runs in 3.1 innings on the mound. In high school, Schwab was a first team all-state closer, and held a 1.05 ERA with 33 strikeouts in 26.2 innings of work in his junior year.

Hasek is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound sophomore at Galveston Community College. He’s held down a 3.21 ERA in 42 innings this spring. He’s struck out 33 batters and has yet to allow a home run in 2017. He’s turned things around from his freshman season at Galveston, during which he had a 7.88 ERA in 16 innings with 14 strikeouts.
