Thunder Bay, ON – The Thunder Bay Border Cats are pleased to announce the re-signing of Andy Weber for the 2017 season. 

Weber, a Sophomore infielder at the University of Virginia, had a great 2016 with the Border Cats hitting .309, with 34 runs and 8 doubles. Weber was the Border Cats starting second baseman, however late in the summer took over the starting short stop role. 

Weber also earned the honour of playing in the Major League Dreams showcase last summer in Madison. 

So far this year at Virginia, Weber has a .265 BA with 36 RBI’s through 41 games.  

Opening Night for the Border Cats is Saturday, June 3, 2017, with first pitch at 6:05pm.
