Ty Jandrowski of Madison College, Alonzo Jones of Vanderbilt, and Jake Esp of Villanova will be headed to Green Bay

Green Bay, Wis.- Ty Jandrowski, a 6’2” 200-pound left handed hitting first baseman from Kenosha, Wisconsin will be staying close to home this summer once his season with Madison Area Technical College comes to a close. This year as a redshirt sophomore, Jandrowski got it done at the plate with a .325 batting average while racking up 27 hits, 12 RBIs and tallied a .436 on-base percentage. Last season for the Wolfpack, the lefty missed most of the season due to injury, yet still managed to post a .246 batting average, 16 hits, and 11 RBIs. MATC is having a phenomenal season as well, as they have posted a 37-18 regular season record to date and played in the NJCAA Division II Region IV Title game. They ended on a loss to Kankakee Community College 9 to 3.

Alonzo Jones, a 5’10” 195-pound sophomore infielder from Columbus, Georgia will be heading north for the summer of 2017 once his year with Vanderbilt ends. The former high school All-American, was named a Freshman All-American for the Commodores by Collegiate Baseball. During his first season, Jones posted a .285 batting average, 47 hits, 35 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases. This season, the switch hitter has tacked on 21 hits, 10 RBIs and accumulated a .343 on-base percentage. Jones was drafted in the 36th round by the Chicago Cubs in the 2015 first-year player draft. Vanderbilt is currently having a solid season as they have a 33-22-1 overall record.

Jake Esp, a 6’4” 215-pound right handed pitcher from Sugar Grove, Illinois will be joining the Bullfrogs for the 2017 season after he finishes up his season with Villanova University. Last season for the Wildcats, Esp appeared in 10 games and held opposing batters to just 5-for-28 (.179) against him. This season, the righty saw a large increase in playing time, appearing in 19 games of relief. He posted a 2-1 record, racked up 12 strikeouts and held opponents to just a .232 batting average. Esp is quite the athlete. While at Marmioin Academy, in addition to his four baseball varsity letters, Esp played three years of basketball and was named an All-Area selection.

The Bullfrogs will open their season at home Tuesday, May 30 at 6:35 p.m. against the Wisconsin Woodchucks.
