Pederson becomes the 6th Field Manager in Huskies history

Duluth, Minn. – The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is proud to announce the selection of their new Field Manager, Tyger Pederson from Palo Alto, California. This will be the sixth Field Manager in the history of the Huskies Organization. “His resume speaks for itself,” Team Owner and President, Michael Rosenzweig, said. “We are very excited to have his talent available to us.”

Coach Pederson just finished up his professional playing career and has begun his coaching adventure. In 2016, he coached with the MLB at their International Elite Baseball Camp in Taiwan. He managed Orange County Riptide to a California collegiate league championship in his first season the summer of 2017. He has also been the assistant baseball coach at Hawaii Pacific University from 2016-2017. More recently, he has started as the assistant coach for the Cal Poly Mustangs in San Luis Obispo, California. Coach Pederson will be announcing his assistant coaches in the upcoming weeks.

Duluth Huskies’ General Manager, Greg Culver added, “These are sensational times for not only our organization, but also our community.”

As a collegiate player, he was captain and baseball scholarship athlete at the University of the Pacific from 2010-2013, and received his BA in Sports Science in 2013. In that same year, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers.

“I am extremely excited for the opportunity to manage the Duluth Huskies this summer,” Pederson responded. “My staff and I are working hard to recruit the best players in the country. This summer we are going to compete in every game and play the game the right way. I can’t wait to become part of the community and bring Duluth an exciting ball club for all to support.”

Tyger is the son of Stu and Shelly Pederson, and growing up, Pederson was heavily surrounded by the game of baseball. His father played thirteen years of professional baseball with the Dodgers organization. His brother, Joc, plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers and with Israel’s World Baseball Classic team, his sister, Jacey, plays soccer for team USA and UCLA, and his brother, Champ, is a motivational speaker and advocate for his organization, “Live Like a Champ.”

Huskies’ Senior Director of Baseball Operations, Les Pajari, revealed, “We are so fortunate to land Tyger as our manager. He has the baseball playing and coaching experience we were looking for. He has the Major League bloodlines with his father Stu and his brother Joc. His older brother Champ is a very special person. His contacts in the game are way more than we could of ever dreamed of. He also has the personality and tireless work ethic that will take him to the top of the coaching profession in the future. He has won a championship in the summer, recently. The Huskies and the whole Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin baseball community will benefit a great deal from having Tyger here.”

Tyger Pederson is not only a coach on the field, but also in the classroom. From 2013-2016 he was a long-term substitute teacher in the Palo Alto, CA school district. He is also pursuing his masters degree in elementary teaching. When not coaching, he enjoys giving baseball lessons, surfing, hiking, country concerts, and beach volleyball.
