Wausau, WIS – The Wisconsin Woodchucks have announced the signing of two Baylor Bears to the 2018 roster. Nick Loftin and Jesse Garcia will bring their talents to Wausau this summer.

Loftin, a 6’1” freshman from Corpus Christi, TX will bring his strong bat to the lineup. Loftin was a four year letter-winner in high school and hit .454 with 29 stolen bases. He was named to the MaxPrep Underclass All-American team as an outfielder and received all-district first team shortstop honors twice. Loftin has played in three games for the Bears so far this season, hitting .333 and starting one game at shortstop.

Garcia, a 5’9” freshman from Houston, TX will join the Woodchucks pitching staff. The left-handed pitcher was a one year letter-winner in high school and posted 86 strikeouts in his senior season. Garcia was named to the 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game Pre-Season All-American Texas Region Honorable Mention Team. In 2016, he was named to the Rawlings-Perfect Game Underclassmen Pre-Season All-American Honorable Mention team.
