McClain and Wells are the two newest members of the Duluth Huskies

Duluth, Minn. – The Duluth Huskies Baseball Club is pleased to welcome both Benjamin McClain (Lee’s Summit, MO) and Hunter Wells (Katy, TX) to the team for the 2018 season. Each one of these players will be joining us from the southern part of the United States. McClain is a freshman playing at the University of Arkansas while Wells, a redshirt sophomore, plays for Louisiana Tech University.

Benjamin McClain is joining a highly touted, fourth ranked Division 1 Arkansas team that went 45-19 in 2017. Ben (OF) was 18th ranked prospect in the state of Missouri according to Perfect Game when coming out of high school.  He also attended the South Top Prospect Showcase put on by Perfect Game in 2016.

Hunter Wells (2B, SS, 3B) is currently playing for the Bulldogs of LA Tech. Hunter is off to a nice start of the season hitting .290 in 31 plate appearances. He played Junior College for Tyler, TX and led them to a championship in the 2016 season. That season he boasted a .350 batting average with 50 runs batted in.

The Huskies open the 2018 season with five road games, but open at Wade Stadium Sunday, June 3rd against the Eau Claire Express.
