Madison, Wis. – The Madison Mallards have announced the addition of a trio of outfielders for the 2018 season. Drew Campbell (Louisville), Drew Ober (UNC-Charlotte), and Jake Randa (NW Florida St.) form a strong core of outfielders that will be on display in Madison this summer.
Campbell, a 5-foot-11 sophomore from Jefferson, Indiana, is already making an impact at Louisville after spending his freshman season at Olney Central College. This spring, Campbell has already started five games for the thirteenth-ranked Cardinals and has racked up seven hits in 18 at bats while knocking in seven runs. The sophomore will continue to make an impact on the Louisville team that will look to make its second straight trip to the College World Series.
Ober, a 6-foot-2 junior from Huntersville, North Carolina, brings plenty of experience to the Mallards roster this summer. Ober has started 68 games in the 49ers outfield and has been an on-base machine. He owns a .282 career average and has knocked in 47 runs. This spring, Ober has also proved to be a threat on the base paths as he’s already swiped four bases in seven games.
Randa, a 6-foot freshman from Prairie Village, Kansas, will head to the Duck Pond after his first season at Northwest Florida State. Randa had a spectacular high school career as he compiled a career .519 OBP and was named All-State during his senior season. Collegiately Randa has already made an impact as a newcomer for the Raiders. This spring, Randa is batting .472 through 17 games and has hit three home runs while knocking in 18 runs. Randa will join the Mallards after his freshman campaign in Niceville, Florida.
