FOND DU LAC, WI – The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders are excited to announce the signings of five players from the West Coast. Jason Brandow (Cal State Fullerton), Trevor Cadd (Cal State Fullerton), Sam Novitske (Oregon), Andrew Schleusner (Montana State University – Billings), and Jack Owens (Santa Ana College) will all be joining the Dock Spiders’ squad this summer.
Brandow, a freshman outfielder at Fullerton, is currently playing his first season with the team. He was drafted last spring in the 22nd round by the Pittsburgh Pirates. A 2018 graduate of Vintage High School in Napa, California, he played three years on varsity and was an All-State second team and Napa County player of the year in 2018.
Cadd, a freshman outfielder for the Titans, is also currently playing his first season at Fullerton. He attended Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Riverside, Calif. where he played all four years of varsity baseball and was named Rookie of the Year his freshman year of high school along with being named Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman.
Novitske, a 5’11” freshman infielder from the University of Oregon, was ranked 130th overall and 29th among shortstops in California by Perfect Game as a high school senior. As a senior he was named East Bay Athletic League honorable mention, hit .351 with two home runs and 22 RBIs. He finished with five doubles, four triples and accumulated an on-base percentage of .470 while scoring 28 runs. As a junior he was named to the East Bay Athletic League 1st team.
Schleusner, a 5’11” junior at Montana State University Billings, has started 67 games at catcher the past two years and was voted 2nd team All-GNAC in 2018. As a sophomore he hit .325 with four home runs and 38 RBIs. He also earned GNAC Player of the Week honors in the first week of the 2018 season. Last summer he hit .321 in 10 games with the Yakima Valley Pippins.
Owens, a 6’2” redshirt freshman, is a right hander pitcher for Santa Ana College. He attended Beckman high school and has both pitched and hit for the Dons.
