Malachi Moore, who worked in the Northwoods League as an umpire during the 2011 season, will make his Major League debut tonight in Arizona when the Diamondbacks host the Oakland Athletics. Moore, along with Nathan Tomlinson (2010), who made his debut on August 7, is the 2nd NWL umpire to debut this season, and 6th overall to umpire a regular season MLB game. Moore won’t be the only NWL alum at Chase Field tonight as he will join six player alumni: the D-Backs’ Kole Calhoun (Eau Claire 2007-9), Alex Young (Lakeshore ’14) and Daulton Varsho (Eau Claire 2015-16), and the Athletics’ Mark Canha (St. Cloud 2008), Marcus Semien (Alexandria 2009-10), Matt Chapman (La Crosse 2012), and Tony Kemp (Rochester 2011).
