A moment of NWL history was made today as the brand new team, the Royal Oak Leprechauns, earned their first win in the league in high-scoring fashion. The Wausau Woodchucks with a hot start, winning their first two series of the season.

Traverse City 10, Kokomo 5

The Traverse City Pit Spitters win at home taking down the Kokomo Jackrabbits 10-5. Ethan Guerra (Paris Junior College) went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI single in the fourth and two RBI in the eighth. Brody Capps (Wallace Community College-Dothan) went 1-for-5 with an RBI in the third and a two-run single in the eighth. David Ayers (Butler University) went 2-for-4 recording a triple and a stolen base. Ryan Daly (University of St. Francis (IL)) earned the win throwing six innings with nine strikeouts allowing three hits, one walk, and zero runs.

Royal Oak 19, Lakeshore 10

The Royal Oak Leprechauns give the Lakeshore Chinooks their first loss of the season in a 19-10 hit show. Evan Bottone (University of Akron) had a day at the plate going 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in the first inning, his fourth RBI in the seventh, and scoring three times. Cam Hollobaugh (Walsh University) went 3-for-3 recording three RBI, one stolen base, and scoring twice. Brock Olmstead (Siena Heights University)went 3-for-5 recording three RBI, one walk, a double, and scoring three times. Tony Hatzigeorgiou (Wayne State University)went 3-for-6 including a double recording three RBI and scoring three times. Jace Fowler (Indiana State University) with two plate appearances went 2-for-2 including a double recording two RBI and scoring once. Macio Miller (Wayne State University) earned the win throwing three innings with two strikeouts allowing four hits, two runs, and one walk.

Wausau 10, Fond du Lac 6

The Wausau Woodchucks secured the sweep over the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders today with a 10-6 victory . Val Cerna (Central Methodist University)went 2-for-3 at the plate drawing three walks recording an RBI and scoring once. Max Galvin (Oklahoma State University) went 2-for-5 including an RBI and a double in the sixth. Drew Barragan (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) went 2-for-4 collecting a pair of doubles, two RBI, and scoring once. Cade Sikoski (Fairmont State University) went 3-for-4 including a two-run double in the eighth. Daniel Galvan (Keiser University) earned the win throwing seven innings with ten strikeouts allowing six hits, one run, and zero walks.

Battle Creek 5, Kenosha 4

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks take down the Kenosha Kingfish in tonight’s tight matchup. Josh Schleichardt (Clark College) went 2-for-3 at the plate with a two-run double in the fourth and scoring once. Spencer Vergurg (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-4 recording two RBI. Dj Ghiorso (Santa Barbara City College) went 2-for-4 tallying two RBI, a walk, a stolen base, and scoring once. Justin Malloy (Walsh University) earned the win throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing two runs, one hit, and one walk.

Rockford 7, Kalamazoo 6

The Rockford Rivets came back in the seventh to defeat the Kalamazoo Growlers 7-6. Kyle Schupmann (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-5 at the plate including a three-run home run in the seventh. Tommy Townsend (Butler University) went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in the fourth. Jack Zebig (Maryville University) went 1-for-4 with a solo shot in the fifth. Jack Potteiger (Eastern Illinois University) earned the win throwing an inning, recording one strikeout allowing three runs, two hits, and two walks.

Rochester 8, Eau Claire 5

The Rochester Honkers powered through in their 8-5 victory over the Eau Claire Express. Petey Craska (Georgia Tech) went 1-for-4 at the plate with a two-run home run in the sixth. Noah Rodriguez (University of Nevada Las Vegas) went 2-for-4 tallying two RBI, a walk, and scoring once. Ryan Tiger ( Rogers State University) went 1-for-4 with a solo shot in the fifth. Byron Blaise ( John Wood Community College) went 2-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles recording an RBI and scoring once. Sam George ( East Tennessee State University) earned the win throwing six innings with three strikeouts allowing five hits, one run, and one walk.

La Crosse 5, Thunder Bay 4

The La Crosse Loggers walk it off in the ninth to secure the win over the Thunder Bay Border Cats. Rj Hamilton (Vanderbilt University) was clutch going 1-for-1 with the walk-off two-run double. Jack Collins (California State University Long Beach) went 1-for-3 including a double recording an RBI, a walk, a stolen base, and scoring once. Logan Mcintyre (University of Missouri-St. Louis) went 2-for-3 with a double tallying a walk and scoring once. Luke Vaks (West Chester University) earned the win throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing one run, one walk, and zero hits.

Green Bay 5, Madison 3

The Green Bay Rockers take down the Madison Mallards 5-3 in tonight’s tight matchup. Luke Moeller (Yavapai Community College) went 2-for-4 with an RBI single in the first and a second RBI in the second. Kelly Cooper (Oral Roberts University) went 1-for-2 recording one RBI, two walks, two stolen bases, and scoring once. Nick Harms (Case Western Reserve University) went 1-for-3 tallying one RBI and drew two walks. Connor Nolen (Carroll University) earned the win throwing 3.2 innings with four strikeouts allowing three walks, two hits, and zero runs.

Wisconsin Rapids 2, Waterloo 1

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters swept the series with tonight’s 2-1 victory over the Waterloo Bucks. Jack Mathey (Ohio Dominican University) is responsible for both Rafter’s runs going 2-for-3 with a two-run home run in the sixth. Max Mcgwire (University of San Diego) was perfect at the plate going 1-for-1 drawing three walks recording a double and scoring once. Brennan Hudson (Georgia State University) went 1-for-2 drawing two walks and recording an RBI in the sixth. Noah Rodriguez (Siena College) earned the win throwing four innings with five strikeouts allowing two walks, two hits, and one run.

Duluth 10, Bismarck 4

The Duluth Huskies ran up the score in their 10-4 victory over the Bismarck Larks. Cardell Thibodeaux (University of Louisiana at Monroe) went 2-for-6 with a two-run triple in the ninth. Mj Sweeney (Grossmont College) went 2-for-3 with a solo shot in the seventh, drawing one walk, and scoring four times. Jow Vos (University of St. Thomas) went 4-for-5 tallying a double, an RBI, a stolen base, a walk, and scoring twice. Brady Krzciok (Macomb Community College) went 1-for-5 with a home run recording two RBI. Mathis Meurant (Cochise College) went 2-for-3 with a triple tallying two RBI, one walk, and scoring once. Ian Moore (Central Florida Community College) earned the win throwing five innings with six strikeouts allowing five hits, four walks, and three runs.

Minot 7, St. Cloud 6

The Minot Hot Tots go the distance and walk it off in the tenth to defeat the St. Cloud Rox 7-6. Tristan Moore (University of Houston) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 drawing two walks and an RBI single in the second. Hector Mangual (University of South Alabama) went 1-for-4 with a double and recorded two RBI. Jackson Hauge (University of Kansas) went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in the third. Austen Roellig (Louisiana State University) went 2-for-5 with a triple recording two RBI. Kell Piggott (Augsburg University) earned the win throwing one inning with one strikeout allowing zero hits, zero walks, and zero runs.

Willmar 7, Badlands 3

The Willmar Stingers use a five-run seventh inning to secure the 7-3 win over the Badlands Big Sticks. Colin Hynek (Georgia State University) was an RBI machine going 1-for-3 collecting three RBI in the seventh and an RBI double in the fourth. Brandon Gonzaga (Lewis and Clark College) went 2-for-4 tallying an RBI, one stolen base, and scoring once. Aiden Bryne (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 1-for-4 recording an RBI, a stolen base, and scoring twice. Kaden Carpenter (University of Utah) went 2-for-4 with a solo shot in the fourth ending the day with two RBI. Sam Tyrpa (Dakota State University) earned the win throwing three innings with four strikeouts allowing no walks, no runs, and no hits.
