
Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Fond du lac Dock Spider walked it off to hand the Wausau Woodchucks their first loss of the season beating them 4-3. The Madison Mallards sweep the Wisconsin Rapids Rafter.
Thunder Bay 14, Duluth 1
The Thunder Bay Border Cats dominated the Duluth Huskies defeating them 14-1 in their first matchup of the day. Cole Ketzner (University of South Alabama) went 1-for-3 with a grand slam in the first inning. Jacob Miller (Jefferson College (MO)) went 4-for-5 recording a double, and an RBI in the second, and scored twice. Ty Hamilton (University of Utah) went 1-for-4 tallying two RBI, one walk, one stolen base, and scored twice. Charlie Sutherland (University of Minnesota) went 2-for-3 with an RBI double in the sixth. Kansai Sugimoto (Yavapai Community College (AZ)) earned his first win of the season throwing a solid six innings with nine strikeouts allowing seven hits, one run, and zero walks.
Kalamazoo 3, Kokomo 2
The Kalamazoo Growlers jumped out early and beat the Kokomo Jackrabbits 3-2. Reagan Paulina (Wayne State University) went 2-for-4 including a two-run home run to start the game in the first frame. Myles Beale (Northwood University) went 2-for-5 and scored once. Jeremy Comer (Kalamazoo Valley Community College) went 1-for-4 recording one RBI. Jj Manion earned his first win of the season throwing five innings allowing six hits, one run, and zero walks.
Battle Creek 10, Royal Oak 4
The Battle Creek Battle Jacks take down the Royal Oak Leprechauns for a second time beating them 10-4 in tonight’s matchup. Alex Fernandes (University of Memphis) was perfect at the plate going 1-for-1 drawing three walks and recording an RBI triple in the sixth, two stolen bases, and scored three times. Caleb Estrada (Kalamazoo Valley Community College) also went 1-for-1 drawing three walks with one stolen base and scored twice. Aidan Arbogast (Eastern Michigan University) went 1-for-5 with a two-run double in the first. Camdyn Martindale (St. Peter’s University) earned the win throwing 3.1 innings with one strikeout allowing two walks, one hit, and zero runs.
Madison 4, Wisconsin Rapids 3
The Madison Mallards used an eighth-inning run to secure the win over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 4-3. Blake Guerin (University of Iowa) went 1-for-3 with a two-run single in the third. David Whittle (San Diego State University) went 1-for-3 collecting an RBI in the eighth and scoring once. Jack Mathey (Ohio Dominican University) went 4-for-5 including a double and one RBI. Kyler Mcintosh (Alabama State University) went 1-for-4 recording two RBI and scoring once. Jase Schueller (Vanguard University) earned the win throwing 1.1 innings with two strikeouts allowing two hits, zero walks, and zero runs.
Lakeshore 2, Traverse City 1
The Lakeshore Chinooks score in the ninth taking down the Traverse City Pit Spitters 2-1. Zan Von Schlegell (University of St.Thomas) went 2-for-3 with an RBI single in the fourth. Josh Outlaw (Parkland College) went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and one stolen base. Dominic Kibler (Kent State University) went 1-for-3 with a double and scored once. Tyler Deleskiewicz (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) earned the win throwing 1.2 innings with three strikeouts allowing three walks, zero hits, and zero runs.
Fond du Lac 4, Wausau 3

Quiten Perilli (Elizabethtown College) was the king of clutch at the plate going 1-for-4 with a two-run single in the ninth to tie the game up. Tyler Neises (Georgia Tech) came up right after going 3-for-5 including the single that scored the winning run. Zach Taylor (University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh) was perfect today going 1-for-1 with a double and scoring once. Deuce Musial li (Arkansas State University) earned the win throwing two innings with two strikeouts allowing one hit, zero walks, and zero runs.
Bismarck 9, Minot 6
The Bismark Larks used a four-run sixth inning to take the lead and defeat the Minot Hot Tots 9-6. Kyle Hvidsten ( Iowa Western Community College) went 2-for-4 collecting an RBI in the fifth, an RBI single in the sixth, and one stolen base. Michael Davinni (University of Utah) went 2-for-4 including a double, two stolen bases, one RBI, and scoring once. Alex Alva (University of Jamestown) went 2-for-6 with a double, one RBI, and scored twice. Mateo Serna (University of Missouri) went 2-for-5 with a pair of doubles and scored once. Trae Cassidy (Ohio University) went 2-for-3 collecting three RBI. Riley Roskopf (Paradise Valley Community College) earned the win throwing 2.2 innings with two strikeouts allowing two hits, two runs, and zero walks.
Rockford 10, Kenosha 5
The Rockford Rivets Collected twelve hits to help them take down the Kenosha Kingfish 10-5. Logan Mock (University of Southern Indiana) went 2-for-5 with a bases-clearing double in the sixth. Cain Headrick (Lewis University) went 1-for-5 with an RBI double in the seventh. Jack Zebig (Maryville University) went 2-for-4 recording one RBI and scoring three times. Brayden Bakes (Indiana University) went 2-for-5 with a double and one RBI. Max Vaisvila (Wabash Valley College) earned his first win of the season throwing two innings with two strikeouts allowing two hits, zero walks, and zero runs.
Duluth 9, Thunder Bay 4
The Duluth Huskies take game 2 over the Thunder Bay Border Cats beating them 9-4. Charlie Sutherland (University of Minnesota) had a day at the plate going 3-for-5 including a two-run triple in the second and a two-run home run in the sixth. Ethan Cole (University of Minnesota-Duluth) also had a solid outing going 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the fifth and a double in the sixth. Dick Cardel (University Nebraska Omaha) went 2-for-3 recording two RBI and scoring once. Joshua Butler (Arizona State University) earned his first win of the season throwing four scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing one walk and zero hits.
Eau Claire 6, Rochester 2
The Eau Claire Express used a four-run fifth inning to take the lead and take down the Rochester Honkers 6-2. Colton Wenhoff (University of Kansas) went 2-for-5 with a two-run single in the fifth. Hudson Deal (Sauk Valley Community College) went 1-for-4 with an RBI double in the seventh also collecting a stolen base. Nico Defazio (Univeristy of the Pacific) went 2-for-4 recording one RBI. Brendan Strenke (Iowa Western Community College) earned the win throwing four innings with five strikeouts allowing four hits, one walk, and one run.
Green Bay 11, La Crosse 6
The Green Bay Rockers rallied over the La Crosse Loggers defeating them 11-6. Sam Miller (Columbia University) had a day at the plate going 4-for-5 with a two-run home run in the fifth, an RBI single in the sixth, and an RBI single in the seventh. Mateo Matthews (Wagner College) also had an excellent outing going 2-for-4 with a three-run home run in the sixth. Luke Moeller (Yavapai Community College) went 2-for-5 with two RBI, one stolen base, and scored once. Luke Anderson (BYU) went 3-for-4 at the plate with a pair of doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. Connor Nolen (Carroll University) earned his second win of the season throwing 2.2 innings with three strikeouts allowing four hits, four runs, and three walks.
Willmar 6, Mankato 4
The Willmar Stingers take down the Mankato MoonDogs for a second time defeating them 6-4. Colin Hynek (Georgia State University) went 3-for-4 at the plate with a two-run single in the first, an RBI single in the third, and a double in the fifth. Colton Griffin (Stephen. F. Austin State University) went 2-for-5 recording a double, two stolen bases, and scoring once. Brandon Gonzaga (Lewis and Clark College) went 3-for-4 with one RBI, one stolen base, and scored once. Josh Alexander (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) went 2-for-5 with an RBI single in the seventh and a solo home run in the ninth. J.D. Hennen (Augustana University) earned his second win of the season throwing six innings with six strikeouts allowing three walks, two hits, and zero earned runs.
Badlands 11, St. Cloud 6
The Badlands Big Sticks break it open over the St. Cloud Rox defeating them 11-6. Quade Peters (Eastern Illinois University) was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with an RBI single in the sixth and a two-run double in the seventh. Kaden Carpenter (University of Utah) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in the first. Marcus Romero (South Mountain Community College) went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI, one stolen base, and scoring once. Jackson Hauge (University of Kansas) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the first. Ben Higdon (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in the eighth.
