Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The Waterloo Bucks sweep the Rochester Honkers defeating them in tonight’s tight matchup 5-3. The St. Cloud Rox score seven in the fourth inning to run up the score and take down the Minot Hot Tots 14-1, securing the sweep.

La Crosse 3, Green Bay 2

The La Crosse Loggers take down the Green Bay Rockers 3-2 in tonight’s tight matchup. Zach Wadas (Texas Christian University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with an RBI double in the first and recording a stolen base. Derrick Mitchell (Louisiana State University) went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI single in the fourth. Luke Davis (Long Beach City College) went 1-for-5 with one RBI and one stolen base. Reece Beuter (University of Iowa) earned his first win of the season throwing three innings with two strikeouts allowing two walks, two hits, and zero earned runs.

Mankato 12, Badlands 6

The Mankato MoonDogs came out swinging in their first matchup of the day collecting seventeen hits to defeat the Badlands Big Sticks 12-6. Brody Delamielleure (Florida State University) went 3-for-5 scoring once with a double and recording three RBI. Matthew Fleischhacker (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 4-for-5 scoring three times with two RBI and two stolen bases. Cooper Neville (Grand Canyon University) went 1-for-5 scoring three times with one RBI and three stolen bases. Mason Strong (University of Oklahoma) went 2-for-4 scoring once with two RBI. Owen Byberg (Frontier Community College) earned the win throwing five innings with two strikeouts allowing seven hits, five runs, and one walk.

St. Cloud 14, Minot 1

The St. Cloud Rox score seven in the fourth inning to run up the score and take down the Minot Hot Tots 14-1. Sawyer Smith (St. Cloud State University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run in the first and collected two more RBI. Ben Higdon (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a two-run home run in the seventh. Will Henson (Ohio State University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice collecting two RBI. Jake Perry (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI and one stolen base. Piercen McElyea (Tarleton State University) earned the win throwing five innings with five strikeouts allowing three hits, two walks, and one run.

Kenosha 11, Traverse City 0

The Kenosha Kingfish dominates the Traverse City Pit Spitters beating them 11-0. Justin Hausser (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) had a day at the plate going 3-for-5 scoring once with a double and collecting four RBI. Robert Newland (Kalamazoo College) went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Nick Giamarusti (Ohio State University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Christopher Schuchart (Davidson College) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Cole Tolbert (University of Mississippi) earned the win throwing five innings with four strikeouts allowing two walks, two hits, and zero runs.

Royal Oak 9, Rockford 4

The Royal Oak Leprechauns break it open in the first inning scoring six runs and beating the Rockford Rivets 9-4. Matt Gonzalves (Fresno State University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with an RBI single in the first and a two-run home run in the fourth. Nate Ball (Eastern Michigan University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with two RBI and one stolen base. Tommy Townsend (Butler University) went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Nick Williams (California State University Long Beach) earned his first win of the season throwing 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts allowing four hits, two walks, and zero runs. 

Thunder Bay 7, Duluth 6

The Thunder Bay Border score the go-ahead run in the ninth to take down the Duluth Huskies 7-6. Ty Brooks (University of South Alabama) went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple in the ninth to take the lead. Kyle Morrison (Shelton State Community College (AL)) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a triple and an RBI. Zane Skansi (Creighton University (NE)) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Mj Sweeney (Grossmont College) went 2-for-5 scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Griffin Catto (Southern Illinois University) earned the win throwing 1.2 innings with two strikeouts allowing zero walks, hits, and runs.

Eau Claire 13, Willmar 7

The Eau Claire Express scored seven runs in the third to help defeat the Willmar Stingers 13-7. Colton Wemhoff (University of Kansas) went 2-for-4 scoring two times with a double collecting three RBI. Brigs Richartz (University of St. Thomas) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI. Andrew Sojka (California State University Northridge) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run. Colton Griffin (Stephen. F. Austin State University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with three stolen bases. Henry Wilkinson (University of Minnesota-Duluth) earned the win throwing 2.1 innings with three strikeouts allowing one walk, one hit, and zero runs.

Waterloo 5, Rochester 3

The Waterloo Bucks defeat the Rochester Honkers 5-3 in tonight’s tight matchup. Ben Wilmes (University of Iowa) went 1-for-5 with a double and one RBI. Chase Beattie (Saint Louis University) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 scoring once. Marcus Heusohn (University of Illinois at Chicago) went 3-for-4 scoring twice. Evan Morrison (McPherson College) went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Dom Rodriguez (San Joaquin Delta College) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI. Ryan Gold (University of Georgia) earned the win throwing two innings with two strikeouts allowing three walks, one hit, and zero runs.

Badlands 14, Mankato 7

The Badlands Big Sticks respond to a loss earlier in the day, scoring seven runs in the eighth to take down the Mankato MoonDogs 14-7. Jake Paczkowski (San Joaquin Delta College) went 2-for-6 scoring once with a double collecting three RBI. Cooper Hill (Tyler Junior College) went 2-for-6 scoring twice with a double and two RBI and one stolen base. Marcus Romero (South Mountain Community College) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run in the sixth. Evan Appelwick (Miami University Ohio) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Taylor Steig (Olivet Nazarene University) went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run. Garret Lundmark (Spokane Falls CC) earned the win throwing five innings with three strikeouts allowing three walks, three hits, and two runs.

Bismarck 14, Minnesota 2

The Bismarck Larks rallied over the Minnesota Mud Puppies defeating them 14-2. Andrew Ivy Jr. (Arizona Christian University) went 2-for-6 scoring twice with three RBI and one stolen base. Tye Wood (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Mathis Meurant (Cochise College) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Theo Bryant lv (Tennessee Tech University) went 1-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run. Scott Borgmann (Wilmington University) earned his first win of the season throwing two innings with three strikeouts allowing one hit, zero walks, and zero runs.

Wausau 4, Lakeshore 3

The Wausau Woodchucks pull through with the win beating  the Lakeshore Chinooks 4-3. Max Soliz Jr. (Auburn) was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with an RBI double in the fourth. Drew Berkland (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in the ninth. Brayden Smith (Iowa Western Community College) went 3-for-4 scoring twice. Aj Garcia (University of Michigan) went 3-for-4 scoring once with a two-run home run in the ninth and one stolen base. Edwin Alicea (Nova Southeastern University) earned his second win of the season throwing four scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing five hits, and zero walks.

Wisconsin Rapids 10, Madison 4

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters score four in the fifth the help defeat the Madison Mallards 10-4. Jake Beauchaine (Saddleback College) had a day at the plate going 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run in the second and a two-run home run in the third. Trotter Boston (Tabor College) went 2-for-3 with a double and a three-run home run in the fifth. Blake Guerin (University of Iowa) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Jake Munroe (John A. Logan Community College) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Evan Parmer (Virginia Military Institute) earned the win throwing three innings with two strikeouts allowing one hit, one run, and zero walks.
