Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured 14 games. The Madison Mallards swept the doubleheaders over the Green Bay Rockers winning game two 4-3. The Thunder Bay Border Cats end the win streak for the La Crosse Loggers.

Madison 9, Green Bay 1

The Madison Mallards collect thirteen hits to take down the Green Bay Rockers 9-1. Korbyn Dickerson (University of Louisville) went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run. Shai Robinson (Illinois State University) went 2-for-3 scoring three times with a two-run home run and a double. Alex Harrel (Arkansas State – Mountain Home) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 scoring twice with an RBI and four stolen bases. Lane Allen (Blinn College) went 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Matt Augustin (University of Virginia) earned the win throwing one scoreless inning allowing one hit.

Traverse City 8, Kalamazoo 7

The Traverse City Pit Spitters score four in the fourth to beat the Kalamazoo Growlers 8-7. Ethan Guerra (Paris Junior College) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Daniel Jackson (Wofford College) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with a pair of doubles. Brett Rozman (Central Arizona College) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Gabe Springer (Stanford University) went 3-for-5 with a solo home run and a double. Brodey Acres (Walsh University) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Logan Pikur (Michigan State University) earned the win throwing 3.1 innings with three strikeouts allowing three hits, two walks, and one run.

Kokomo 14, Battle Jacks 3

The Kokomo Jackrabbits came out hot scoring four in the first to set the tone in their 14-3 victory over the Battle Creek Battle Jacks. James Oman (University of North Florida) went 3-for-5 with a three-run home run and a two-run single. Aidan Mcaskie (Charleston Southern University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run and an RBI single. Jake Lambdin (Xavier University) went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Ben Fierenzi (Long Island University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles. Frederick Romano (Western Illinois University) earned the win throwing five innings with five strikeouts allowing five hits, two runs, and one walk.

Madison 4, Green Bay 3

Bismarck 9, Willmar 4

The Bismarck Larks take down the Willmar Stingers 9-4 in tonight’s matchup. Brady Krzciok (Macomb Community College) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run. Cesar Franco (Western Illinois University) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Zach Daudet (California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with one stolen base. Scott Borgmann (Wilmington University) earned the win throwing six innings with four strikeouts allowing seven hits, two runs, and one walk.

Mankato 5, Minot 1

The Mankato MoonDogs dominate the Minot Hot Tots beating them 5-1. Josh Alexander (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a two-run triple. Matthew Fleischhacker (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 1-for-5 scoring once with one stolen base. Keanu Jacobs-Guishard (Grambling State University) went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Rylen Bayne (University of Hawaii) earned the win throwing five innings with five strikeouts allowing four walks, three hits, and one run.

Waterloo 4, Duluth 2

The Waterloo Bucks beat the Duluth Huskies 4-2 in tonight’s tight matchup. Larry Edwards (Oklahoma College-Tonkawa) went 2-for-4 scoring once with one RBI. Lucas Moore (University of Louisville) went 2-for-5 scoring once with one RBI. MJ Sweeney (Grossmont College) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a triple. Charlie Sutherland (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Wyatt Land (University of Georgia) earned the win throwing five innings with six strikeouts allowing three walks, three hits, and one run.

Thunder Bay 12, La Crosse 3

The Thunder Bay Border Cats score four in the ninth to run up the score against the La Crosse Loggers beating them 12-3. Jackson Cooke (University of Tennessee at Martin) went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, an RBI double, and one stolen base. Ty Hamilton (Florida Southwestern State College) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a three-run home run and one stolen base. Zane Skansi (Creighton University (NE)) went 1-for-6 with a two-run home run. Lucas Terilli (Eastern New Mexico University) went 5-for-6 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Case Sanderson (University of Nebraska) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Max Ramirez IV (Niagara University (NY)) earned the win throwing 4.1 scoreless innings with six strikeouts allowing two hits. 

Rochester 8, Minnesota 2

The Rochester Honkers score four in the eighth to help defeat the Minnesota Mud Puppies 8-2. Brendan O’Sullivan (University of Nevada Las Vegas) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a double. Luca Diaoplo (University of Southern California) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Paul Schoenfeld (Colorado Mesa University) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Teige Lethert (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Dylan Tostrup (University of Southern California) earned the win throwing seven innings with eight strikeouts allowing six hits, two runs, and one walk.

St. Cloud 5, Badlands 1

The St. Cloud Rox take down the Badlands Big Sticks 5-1 in tonight’s matchup. Jaixen Frost (University of Iowa) went 1-for-2 with a double, one stolen base, and two RBI. Carter Hanson (University of Massachusetts) went 2-for-5 scoring once with two RBI. Ben Higdon (University of Kentucky) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double and one stolen base. Will Henson (Ohio State University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with two stolen bases. Kaden Pfeffer (St. Cloud State University) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with four strikeouts allowing four hits and one walk.

Royal Oak 3, Kenosha 2

The Royal Oak Leprechauns pulled through with the win over the Kenosha Kingfish beating them 3-2. Saborn Campbell (Stanford University) was perfect at the plate going 2-for-2 with a two-run home run. Ryan Mckay (Michigan State University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with one stolen base. Trey Swiderski (John A Logan) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Alejandro Espinoza (California State University Dominguez Hills) earned the win throwing seven innings with four strikeouts allowing five hits, two runs, and two walks.

Lakeshore 13, Rockford 6

The Lakeshore Chinooks have a monster seventh inning scoring seven runs to help beat the Rockford Rivets 13-6. Ethan Hindle (University of Kentucky) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with a bases-clearing double. Gene Trujillo (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a two-run double and an RBI single. Gabe Roessler (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 1-for-2 scoring once with one stolen base and two RBI. Griffin Cameron (University of Kentucky)went 3-for-4 scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Lucas Spence (Southern Illinois University Edwardsville) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Cohen Achen (Lindsey Wilson College) earned the win throwing six innings with six strikeouts allowing two hits, two earned runs, and one walk.

Fond du Lac 6, Wisconsin Rapids 0

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders shut out the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 6-0. Parker Knoll (Lawrence University) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, an RBI single, and a stolen base. Preston Knott (Northwestern University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Adam Cootway (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater) went 1-for-3 with one RBI and two stolen bases. Noah Tschopp (Embry Riddle Aeronautical University) earned the win throwing five scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing four hits and two walks.

Eau Claire 4, Wausau 2

The Eau Claire Express used a two-run bomb to walk it off taking down the Wausau Woodchucks 4-2. Gabe Richardson went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run. Brigs Richartz went 3-for-5 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Max Galvin went 2-for-5 with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Brendan Strenke earned the win throwing three innings with two strikeouts allowing two hits, one run, and one walk.
