Friday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Duluth Huskies come in clutch scoring four in the ninth to take down the Waterloo Bucks 13-2. The Rockford Rivets score the go-ahead run in the tenth to take down the Rochester Honkers 6-5.

Thunder Bay 7, La Crosse 4

The Thunder Bay Border Cats score five in the fifth to help defeat the La Crosse Loggers 7-4. Riley Iffing (Indiana State University) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Brody Chrisman (Purdue University (IN)) went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one stolen base. Sam Stern (Gonzaga University (WA)) went 1-for-3 with a double and one RBI. Kanon Sundgren (Weatherford College) went 3-for-5 with three RBI. Dylan Mulcahy (Stephen F. Austin State University (TX)) earned the win throwing five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts allowing four walks and three hits.

Royal Oak 6, Battle Creek 4

The Royal Oak Leprechauns take down the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 6-4 in tonight’s matchup. Michael Lareau (Belmont University) went 3-for-5 scoring once with a two-run home run and a two-run double. Ryan Tyranski (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Mason Hamlin (University of Texas of the Permian Basin) went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Ryan Kruse (Valparaiso University) earned the win throwing six innings with three strikeouts allowing two hits, two runs, and two walks.

Madison 10, Lakeshore 4

The Madison Mallards score four in the eighth to help run up the score over the Lakeshore Chinooks beating them 10-4. Alex Harrel (Arkansas State – Mountain Home) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with two RBI. Jake Shaffner (North Dakota State University) went 1-for-6 racking up four RBI. Jack Counsell (University of Michigan) went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run. Mason Shwalbach (Kansas State) went 3-for-4 with a solo home run. Dominic Kibler (Kent State University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one RBI. Jase Shueller (Vanguard University) earned the win throwing 2.2 innings with one strikeout allowing one walk and one hit.

Traverse City 9, Kokomo 4

The Traverse City Pit Spitters score early closing out the second innings ahead six runs to help defeat the Kokomo Jackrabbits 9-4. Vahn Lackey (Georgia Tech) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Ethan Guerra (University of Arizona) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Vincent Temesvary (Gonzaga University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a pair of doubles. Jake Brown (Central Michigan University) earned the win throwing seven innings with seven strikeouts allowing five hits, two runs, and one walk.

Rockford 6, Rochester 5

The Rockford Rivets score the go-ahead run in the tenth to take down the Rochester Honkers 6-5. Tommy Townsend (Butler University) went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Scott Newman (Parkland College) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run. Ryan Bakes (University of South Carolina) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Brayden Bakes (Indiana University) went 3-for-6 with a double and one RBI. Reiss Calvin (Univeristy of California Santa Barbara) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with an RBI double and a solo home run. Andrew Cain (University of Arizona) went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI. Jake Uber (Southern Arkansas University) earned the win throwing 1.2 scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing one hit and zero walks.

Minnesota 10, Eau Claire 4

The Minnesota Mud Puppies score four in the fifth to defeat the Eau Claire Express 10-4. Matthew Maulik (University of St. Thomas) went 4-for-5 scoring once with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Lincoln Berry (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 3-for-5 scoring once with two RBI and one stolen base. Brock Larsen (University of Minnesota-Crookston) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run. Teige Lethert (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 2-for-5 scoring once with three RBI. Liam Martin (University of Montevallo) earned the win throwing 5.2 innings with seven strikeouts allowing three hits, five walks, and one run.

Duluth 13, Waterloo 12

The Duluth Huskies come in clutch scoring four in the ninth to take down the Waterloo Bucks 13-2. Mj Sweeney (Grossmont College) had a monster day at the plate going 3-for-6 scoring twice with a three-run home run, a two-run single, and a go-ahead grand slam in the ninth. Tyler Palmer (University Nebraska Omaha) went 3-for-5 scoring three times with a double and one RBI. Michael Gabbard (University of Minnesota-Duluth) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Kooper Shulte (Southeastern CC) went 1-for-4 scoring once with three RBI. Rowan Barnes (University of California Davis) earned the win throwing one inning allowing one hit.

Bismarck 7, Minot 3

The Bismarck Larks defeated the Minot Hot Tots 7-3 in tonight’s matchup. Cesar Franco (Western Illinois University) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run. Zach Daudet (California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)) went 3-for-5 scoring once with two RBI and two stolen bases. Erick Dessens (Paradise Valley Community College) went 4-for-5 scoring once with one RBI. Kyle Hvidsten (Iowa Western Community College) went 3-for-4 scoring once with one RBI. Luke Zimmer (University of Jamestown) earned the win throwing 5.1 innings with two strikeouts allowing five walks, four hits, and three runs.

Wausau 10, Fond du Lac 3

The Wausau Woodchucks scored five in the eighth to help beat the Fond du Lac Dock Spiders 10-3. Colin Bruggemann (Oklahoma State University) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a two-run home run and one stolen base. Max Galvin (Oklahoma State University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with two RBI and two stolen bases. Samuel Fischer (Florida International University) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a double and one RBI. Jonathan Amonica (Keiser University) earned the win throwing five innings with three strikeouts allowing seven hits, two walks, and two earned runs.

Wisconsin Rapids 13, Green Bay 10

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters collected twelve hits to help defeat the Green Bay Rockers 13-10. Jack Mathey (Ohio Dominican University) was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4 scoring three times with a three-run home run and a grand slam. Aidan Teel (University of Virginia) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run and one stolen base. Owen Mcelfatrick (Northwestern University) went 1-for-2 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Nick Harms (Case Western Reserve University) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a solo home run. Mack Mabrey (San Jacinto College (North)) earned the win throwing one innings with three strikeouts allowing one hit, one walk, and one earned run.

Kalamazoo 3, Kenosha 2

The Kalamazoo Growlers pulled through with the win beating the Kenosha Kingfish 3-2 in tonight’s tight matchup. Gabe Springer (Stanford University) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Michael Perazza (West Virginia University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with a triple. Travis Ilitch (Georgetown University) went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Liam O’Brien (Hawai’i) earned the win throwing five innings with seven strikeouts allowing four walks, one run, and one hit. 

St. Cloud 7, Mankato 4

The St. Cloud Rox score the go-ahead three runs in the eighth to take down the Mankato MoonDogs 7-4. Ben Higdon (University of Southern Mississippi) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and three RBI. Carter Hanson (University of Massachusetts) went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Matthew Fleischhacker (Minnesota State University Mankato) went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Candon Dahle (Brigham Young University) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing one walk.

Willmar 13, Badlands 5

The Willmar Stinger used a monster eighth inning scoring nine runs to take down the Badlands Big Sticks 13-5. Dariel Osoria (Western Oklahoma State) went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run. Andrew Sojka (California State University Northridge) went 4-for-5 scoring once with four RBI and four stolen bases. Max Buettenback (University of Nebraska) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with an RBI double, a solo home run, and one stolen base. Nico Senese (Georgia Southern) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run. Cole Tabor (Texas State University) went 3-for-4 scoring twice a pair of doubles and a solo home run. Aidan Hansen (Minnesota State University Mankato) earned the win throwing three innings with three strikeouts allowing one walk, one hit, and one run.
