Friday’s Northwoods League slate featured 14 games. The Great Plains East #3 Rochester Honkers walk it off in extras and defeat the Great Plains East #4 Waterloo Bucks 11-8.

Lakeshore 1, Wisconsin Rapids 0

The Lakeshore Chinooks shut out the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 1-0 in tonight’s tight matchup. Dominic Kibler (Kent State University) went 1-for-2 with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Griffin Cameron (University of Kentucky) scored once with two stolen bases. Jorge De Goti (Nova Southeastern University) went 1-for-3 with a double. Michael Gray (Denison University) earned the win throwing five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts allowing three hits.

Kenosha 5, Battle Creek 1

The Kenosha Kingfish scored three runs in the third to help defeat the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 5-1. Justin Hausser (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Michael Whooley (Villanova University) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Nick Putnam (Univeristy of California Santa Barbara) went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Mason Hamlin (University of Texas of the Permian Basin) went 1-for-4 with one RBI. Chase Minor (University of San Diego) earned the win throwing six innings with five strikeouts allowing three hits, one run, and one walk.

Kalamazoo 8, Traverse City 0

The Kalamazoo Growlers dominate the Traverse City Pit Spitters 8-0. Eric Becker (University of Virginia) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Xavier Delgado (Barry University) went 2-for-5 scoring once with two RBI and one stolen base. Brock Leitgeb (University of Michigan) went 3-for-5 scoring once with two RBI. Travis Ilitch (Georgetown University) went 2-for-4 scoring once with one RBI. Antonio Perrotta (University of Virginia) went 1-for-5 scoring once with one RBI. Ryan Kraft (Indiana University) earned the win throwing seven scoreless innings with nine strikeouts allowing two hits. 

Kokomo 9, Royal Oak 4

The Kokomo Jackrabbits collect twelve hits in their 9-4 victory over the Royal Oak Leprechauns. Chandler Tuupo (Charleston Southern University) went 2-for-2 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Michael Flaherty (Grinnell College) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Eric Harper (NOC Tonkawa) went 3-for-5 with a double, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jayden Lopez (University California Riverside) went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI. George Athanasiadis (Merrimack College) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Lucas Letsinger (Ball State University) earned the win throwing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts allowing two walks and one hit.

Duluth 6, Minnesota 5

The Duluth Huskies take the lead in the eighth and defeat the Minnesota Mud Puppies 6-5. Tyler Palmer (University Nebraska Omaha) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run. Jake Downing (California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly)) went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Joe Vos (University of St. Thomas) went 1-for-1 with two stolen bases. Cardell Thibodeaux (Southern University) scored twice and collected two stolen bases. Gavyn Schacher (Maryville University) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Jakob Schulz (Vanderbilt University) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with five strikeouts allowing four walks.

Willmar 20, Mankato 2

The Willmar Stingers run up the score 20-2 against the Mankato MoonDogs in tonight’s matchup. Jack Spanier (University of Minnesota) went 4-for-5 scoring twice with a double, one stolen base, and five RBI. Liam Bushey (Western Illinois University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a double and five RBI. Max Buettenback (University of Nebraska) went 3-for-6 scoring once with two RBI and one stolen base. Jack Taxdahl (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Christian Smith (University of Illinois) went 3-for-7 scoring three times with a solo home run. Lucas Moore (University of Louisville) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a triple and one stolen base. Ian Halverson (Palomar College) went 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Caden Klebba (University of Minnesota-Duluth) earned the win throwing five strikeouts allowing four hits, two walks, and zero earned runs.

Eau Claire 16, Thunder Bay 6

The Eau Claire Express ran up the score taking down the Thunder Bay Border Cats 16-6. Ethan Farris (Texas State University) went 5-for-6 scoring three times with a grand slam and an RBI single. Colton Wemhoff (University of Kansas) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a solo home run. Tom Otto (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 2-for-6 scoring once with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Jake Busson (Iowa Central Community College) went 2-for-5 scoring three times with one RBI. Jackson Cooke (University of Pittsburgh) had a day at the plate going 3-for-5 scoring twice with a pair of two-run home runs and a two-run double. Logan Jones (University of Toledo) earned the win throwing five innings with four strikeouts allowing four hits, four runs, and four walks.

Fond du Lac 13, La Crosse 7

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders scored four runs in the ninth to help defeat the La Crosse Loggers 13-7. Preston Knott (Northwestern University) went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run. Adam Cootway (University of Wisconsin – Whitewater) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run and two stolen bases. Connor Cooney (College of the Holy Cross) went 2-for-5 scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Cooper Brass (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one stolen base. Austin Kutz (Canisius College) earned the win throwing 4.2 innings with three strikeouts allowing six walks, three hits, and one run.

Madison 7, Rockford 3

The Madison Mallards came out hot scoring five runs in the first to help beat the Rockford Rivets 7-3. Cal Fisher (Florida State University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a two-run home run and a solo home run. Korbyn Dickerson (University of Louisville) went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run. Isaac Lopez (University of Texas Rio Grande Valley) went 1-for-5 scoring once with one RBI. Addison Southwick (Augustana College) earned the win throwing one scoreless inning with one strikeout allowing three walks.

Green Bay 7, Wausau 6

The Green Bay Rockers walk it off in the tenth to take down the Wausau Woodchucks 7-6. Mulivai Levu (UCLA) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Mateo Matthews (Wagner College) went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Daalen Adderley (Loyola Marymount University) went 2-for-5 with a double. Makani Tanaka (Oral Roberts University) scored twice and collected two stolen bases. Colin Bruggemann (Oklahoma State University) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Hayden Christiansen (Xavier University) went 2-for-2 with a solo home run. Max Galvin (Oklahoma State University) went 2-for-4 with a double. Kameron Douglas (Alabama State) earned the win throwing three scoreless innings with three strikeouts allowing one hit.

Lakeshore 12, Wisconsin Rapids 10

The Lakeshore Chinooks secure the doubleheader sweep beating the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 12-10. Jack Halloran (Emory University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a pair of doubles and three RBI. Tristan Ellis (University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee) went 2-for-4 scoring three times with a double, one stolen base, and two RBI. Brady Counsell (University of Kansas) went 1-for-3 scoring once with four RBI. Walker Buchanan (University of Virginia) went 1-for-4 scoring once with three RBI. Aidan Teel (University of Virginia) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI. Noah Musolf (Madison College) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing zero hits or walks.

St. Cloud 6, Minot 2

The St. Cloud Rox take down the Minot Hot Tots 6-2 in tonight’s matchup. Ben Higdon (University of Southern Mississippi) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a two-run home run. Brody Williams (Kent State University) went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one stolen base. Braden Calise (University of Central Florida) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Hunter Day (Missouri State University) earned the win throwing six innings with five strikeouts allowing six hits, zero earned runs, and zero walks.

Bismarck 5, Badlands 1

The Bismarck Larks score five runs in the sixth to beat the Badlands Big Sticks 5-1. Christian Knight (Wagner College) went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and three RBI.
