Friday’s Northwoods League slate featured 15 games. The Great Lakes West #1 Madison Mallards secure the doubleheader sweep with a clutch winning 13-9 victory and a dominating 11-5 victory over the Great Lakes West #4 Green Bay Rockers.

Madison 13, Green Bay 9

The Madison Mallards came in clutch with a monster ninth inning scoring seven runs to defeat the Green Bay Rockers 13-10. Shai Robinson went 1-for-5 with a grand slam. Dawson Hokuf (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-5 with a solo home run, collecting three RBI. Jacob Schroeder (University of Illinois) went 3-for-4 scoring three times with a double and one RBI. Nick Harms (Case Western Reserve University) had a day at the plate going 4-for-5 scoring three times with a pair of home runs, and collecting four RBI. Sam Miller (Columbia University) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with a home run and a double collecting two RBI. Jake Bold (Princeton University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a solo home run. Addison Southwick (Augustana College) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with two strikeouts allowing one walk.

Wisconsin Rapids 7, Kalamazoo 6

The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters walked it off to take down the Kalamazoo Growlers 7-6. Aidan Teel (University of Virginia) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a pair of solo home runs. Gabe Caso (Northampton Community College) went 2-for-2 with a two-run home run. Cashel Dugger (University of California Los Angeles) went 1-for-1 with a two-run home run. Korbin Griffin (Ball State University) went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run. Xavier Delgado (Barry University) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with a solo home run. Josh Novak (Hillsdale College) earned the win throwing one scoreless inning allowing zero hits or walks.

Fond du Lac 11, Lakeshore 9

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders score two runs in extras to beat the Lakeshore Chinooks 11-9. Drew Barragan (Embry Riddle Aeronautical) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with four RBI and one stolen base. Miles Vandenheuvel (Eastern Arizona College) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Adam Cootway (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater) went 1-for-3 with a double, two RBI, and one stolen base. Tyler Neises (Georgia Tech) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double, one RBI, and one stolen base. Austin Kutz (Canisius College) earned the win throwing three innings with three strikeouts allowing two hits, one walk, and zero earned runs.

Kenosha 5, Kokomo 4

The Kenosha Kingfish came in clutch scoring two runs in the ninth to defeat the Kokomo Jackrabbits 5-4. Nick Putnam (Univeristy of California Santa Barbara) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Will Plattner (University of Alabama) went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one stolen base. Sebastian Mueller (Quinnipiac University) went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one stolen base. Chase Minor (University of San Diego) threw a solid six innings recording twelve strikeouts. Jaxson Easterlin (Oakland University) earned the win throwing 1.1 scoreless innings with one strikeout allowing three walks and one hit.

Battle Creek 5, Traverse City 3

The Battle Creek Battle Jacks take down the Traverse City Pit Spitters 5-3 in tonight’s matchup. Garrett Smith (Montana State University Billings) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Ben Fierenzi (Long Island University) went 1-for-4 with two RBI. Cody Hultink (Davenport University) went 1-for-4 scoring twice with two stolen bases. Michael Tchavdarov (Davenport University) went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) went 1-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Michael Addari (Michigan State University) earned the win throwing 3.2 scoreless innings with five strikeouts allowing two hits and one walk.

Kalamazoo 7, Wisconsin Rapids 1

The Thunder Bay Border Cats come in clutch scoring two runs in the ninth to take down the Wausau Woodchucks 7-5. Eau Claire 3, Duluth 2

The Eau Claire Express pulled through with the win beating the Duluth Huskies 3-2. Jake Busson (Iowa Central Community College) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. The Willmar Stingers collected nineteen hits in their 13-2 victory over the Badlands Big Sticks.
