Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured a solo matchup between #1 Mankato Habaneros and #3 La Crosse Steam.

The La Crosse Steam closed the season with a bang upsetting the Mankato Habaneros 8-3. Avary Makarewicz (University of Tennessee at Martin) went 1-for-2 scoring twice with a three-run home run, collecting four RBI and one stolen base. Grace Frechette (St. Cloud State University) was perfect at the plate going 3-for-3 with a triple and two RBI. Rachel Mori (William Peace University) went 1-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI and two stolen bases. Ashley Wolfe (University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with one stolen base. Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) went 1-for-2 scoring twice with a solo home run. Amity White (University of South Alabama) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double. Mackenzie Willis (Belmont University) earned the win throwing seven innings with five strikeouts allowing five hits, two earned runs, and one walk.
