Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 13 games. The Willmar Stingers came out hot scoring three runs in the first to help take down St. Cloud Ros 10-3 and have clinched home-field advantage for the playoffs.

Traverse City 13, Battle Creek 0

The Traverse City Pit Spitters dominate the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 13-0. Michael Tchavdarov (Davenport University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a two-run home run and a double. Carter Hain (Oakland University) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double and three RBI. Aaron Piasecki (Central Michigan University) went 4-for-6 scoring three times with a triple and one RBI. Trent Reed (Lawrence Technological University) went 3-for-4 scoring twice with two RBI. Jake Ickes (Northwood University) earned the win throwing four scoreless innings allowing one hit and one walk.

Rockford 8, Royal Oak 6

The Rockford Rivets came in clutch scoring five runs in the ninth to take down the Royal Oak Leprechauns 8-6 and are playoff-ready. Ivan Dahlberg (University of Illinois at Springfield) went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run. Will Couchman (North Iowa Area Community College) went 2-for-4 scoring once with two RBI and one stolen base. J.R. Nelson (Ohio University) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Joe Turner (University of South Carolina – Beaufort) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and two RBI. Max Woll (College of Lake County) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with one strikeout allowing one hit.

Waterloo 15, Thunder Bay 8

The Waterloo Bucks used a six-run sixth inning to help run up the score on the Thunder Bay Border Cats 15-8 and secure the sweep. Evan Morrison (Grand Valley State University) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with three RBI and one stolen base. Luke Finn (East Texas Baptist University) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a double, two RBI, and one stolen base. Cole Smith (Southeastern Community College) went 3-for-5 scoring three times with a pair of doubles and two RBI. Lucas Moore (University of Louisville) went 1-for-4 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and two RBI. Tripp Johns (State Fair Community College (MO)) went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Terrence Moody (St. Cloud Technical & Community College (MN)) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a triple and two RBI. Sam Stem (Gonzaga University (WA)) went 3-for-5 scoring three times with a solo home run. Alexander Morrison (Los Angeles Mission College) earned the win throwing one scoreless inning allowing one hit and one walk.

Kokomo 8, Kalamazoo 5

The Kokomo Jackrabbits came out hot in the first scoring four runs in the first to take down the Kalamazoo Growlers 8-5. Gabriel Wright (Quinnipiac) went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run. Jacob Medvescek (Indiana University Kokomo) went 2-for-4 scoring twice with a double and two RBI. Joey Cicini (West Chester University) went 1-for-2 scoring twice with a double and one RBI. Myles Beale (Northwood Univeristy) went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run. Brendan Burch (Kalamazoo Valley Community College) went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI. Kaegan Baker (Oklahoma College-Tonkawa) earned the win throwing five innings with seven strikeouts allowing four hits, three runs, and one walk.

Eau Claire 4, Madison 2

The Eau Claire Express scored two runs in the eighth to defeat the Madison Mallards 4-2. Bennett Mccollow (Concordia University-St. Paul) went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Jake Busson (Iowa Central Community College) went 1-for-2 with a solo home run. Brady Blake (University of Kansas) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a triple. Korbyn Dickerson (University of Louisville) went 1-for-5 with a double and one RBI. Jake Schaffner (North Dakota State University) went 1-for-2 scoring twice with two stolen bases. Andrew Milner (Saint Mary”s University) earned the win throwing two scoreless innings with one strikeout allowing two hits.

Green Bay 9, Wisconsin Rapids 1

The Green Bay Rockers collected fourteen hits in their 9-1 victory over the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters. Jake Bold (Princeton University) went 4-for-5 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and four RBI. Nick Harms (Case Western Reserve University) went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run. Sam Miller (Columbia University) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run. Logan Gregorio (Northern Illinois University) went 1-for-2 with a solo home run. Dalton Fiveash (Western Kentucky) went 1-for-4 with a double and one RBI. The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders scored five runs in the sixth to extend the lead and defeat the Lakeshore Chinooks 12-6. The Duluth Huskies walk it off in extras and secure the sweep taking down the Rochester Honkers 5-4. Charlie Sutherland (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-5 with a double and two RBI.
