Wednesday’s Northwoods League slate featured 2 Semi-final games. For the first time in 11 years, the La Crosse Loggers will be playing for a championship. The Kalamazoo Growlers are returning to the championships for a shot at their second title in three years.

Kalamazoo 3, Madison 2

The Kalamazoo Growlers collected nine hits in their 3-2 victory over the Madison Mallards becoming the Great Lakes Champions. Xavier Delgado (Barry University) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run. Travis Ilitch (Georgetown University) went 2-for-4 with a double. Brodey Acres (Walsh University) went 2-for-5 scoring once. Charlie Marion (Madison College) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a pair of solo home runs. Ryan Kraft (Indiana University) earned the win throwing seven spectacular innings with seven strikeouts allowing four walks, one run, and one hit.

La Crosse 8, St. Cloud 1

The La Crosse Loggers came out hot scoring four runs in the first to help take down the St. Cloud Rox 8-1 becoming the Great Plains Champions. Ryan Kucherak (Northwestern) went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run, collecting three RBI. Matthew Miura (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-5 scoring twice with a solo home run and an RBI double. Rj Hamilton (Vanderbilt University) went 1-for-5 scoring once with a triple and one RBI. Elijah Ickes (University of Hawaii) went 2-for-3 scoring twice with a pair of doubles. Luke Anderson (BYU) went 2-for-3 scoring once with a double. Nick Hanson (State University of New York at Cortland) earned the win throwing three innings with five strikeouts allowing two hits, one walk, and zero earned runs.
