Saturday’s Northwoods League slate featured 12 games. The Waterloo Rapids walk it off to defeat the Rockford Rivets 6-5 to split the doubleheader series. The Kenosha Kingfish come back and out on top, defeating the Royal Oak Leprechauns 15-10 in tonight’s slugfest. The Thunder Bay Border Cats came back in the eighth with a five-run inning to take down the Rochester Honkers 11-10.

Wausau 6, Green Bay 3

The Wausau Woodchucks use a four-run seventh inning to seal the 6-3 victory over the Green Bay Rockers. Easton Bryant (Brigham Young University) went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and two stolen bases. Keagan Jirschele (South Dakota State University) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Christian Smith-Johnson (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi)  1-for-2 with an RBI triple, totaling two RBI, one run, and one stolen base. David Ballenilla (Central Arizona College) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3. Riley Schroeder (Oral Roberts University) earned his second win, throwing one no-hit inning with one strikeout, allowing one walk and no earned runs. Reece Clapp (Bradley University) got the save, throwing two scoreless innings with one strikeout, allowing one hit.

Rockford 8, Wisconsin Rapids 3

The Rockford Rivets stormed back, scoring runs in five straight innings to defeat the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters 8-3. Kolby Felix (Colorado Mesa University) went 3-for-3, including a double, tallying two runs, two stolen bases, and one RBI. Nolan Belcher (University of Kentucky) utilized his pinch-hit opportunity, going 1-for-1 with two RBIs. Jack Scheri   (Wabash Valley CC) went 1-for-1 with a double and recorded one RBI and two runs. Drew Thompson (North Central Texas CC) went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run. Aidan Wagley (Ecclesia College) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings with six strikeouts, allowing five hits and two walks.

Fond du Lac 11, Lakeshore 6

The Fond du Lac Dock Spiders use a five-run seventh inning to top the Lakeshore Chinooks 11-6. Thomas Googins (Princeton University) went 2-for-3, including a double, tallying one run and one RBI. Tyler Stack (Xavier University) went 1-for-3, scoring once with three RBI. Jarren Sanderson (Cal State Northridge) went 1-for-3, scoring twice with one RBI and one stolen base. Drew Reynolds (University of Maine) went 1-for-2 with a double, drawing two walks and scoring twice. Tyler Preece (Univeristy of Redlands) went 1-for-4 once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Karter Muck (University of Arizona) earned the win, throwing five innings with seven strikeouts, allowing seven hits, three earned runs, and two walks. Tannis Lange (Ohio State University) had a nice outing, throwing three scoreless innings with six strikeouts, allowing three walks and one hit.

Duluth 4, Eau Claire 1

The Duluth Huskies jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, defeating the Eau Claire Express 4-1. Anthony Zarzana (Wallace CC Dothan) went 1-for-3 with a triple, recording one RBI and one run. Bjorn Lind (Augustana University (MN)) went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Jackson Rains (Arkansas-Little Rock) went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Nate Vidlak (College of Idaho) earned the win, throwing six scoreless innings with five strikeouts, allowing three hits and one walk.

Madison 6, Battle Creek 0

The Madison Mallards shut out the Battle Creek Battle Jacks 6-0. Mj Sweeney (Grossmont CC) went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run, totaling three RBIs and one run. Nate Voss (Penn State University) went 3-for-4, including a double, collecting one run, one RBI, and one stolen base. Liam Moreno (St. Cloud State University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one stolen base. Jacob Kucharczyk (Kellogg CC) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with one stolen base. Tyler Guerin (University of Iowa) earned the win, throwing five scoreless innings with five strikeouts, allowing three walks and two hits.

St. Cloud 16, Badlands 0

The St. Cloud Rox run up the score and shut out the Badlands Big Sticks 16-0, using three back-to-back-to-back five-run innings. Austin Haley (Kansas State) was an RBI machine, going 2-for-4, including a bases-clearing double, recording five RBIs and two runs. Ethan Gibson (Virginia Tech) went 3-for with a two-run home run, racking up three RBIs. Tanner Recchio (University of St. Thomas) was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3, scoring twice, and recording one RBI. Alex Dupuy (LSU -Eunice) went 1-for-1, scoring once with one RBI. Grant Sommers (University of Nebraska Omaha) went 2-for-2, scoring once. Jake Burcham (Tarleton State University) earned the win, throwing six scoreless innings with six strikeouts, allowing four walks and two hits. 

Thunder Bay 11, Rochester 10

The Thunder Bay Border Cats came back in the eighth with a five-run inning to take down the Rochester Honkers 11-10. Jordan Bach (Southern Illinois University) went 2-for-4 with a clutch two-run home run, tallying three RBIs on the day. Corey Morro (U of Science & Arts of Oklahoma) went 3-for-4, including a double, recording two RBIs, two runs, and one stolen base. Manny Alberto (Three Rivers CC (MO)) went 1-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Joel Roberts (San Joaquin Delta (CA) CC) went 3-for-4, including an extra-base hit, scoring twice, tallying one RBI, and three stolen bases. Maddox Haley (Southwestern College) went 2-for-5 with a double, one run, one RBI, and one stolen base. Daniel Aguilera (Ventura CC) went 3-for-5, scoring once with two RBIs. Kennedy Hara (Colorado Mesa University) went 1-for-4 with a triple, scoring twice and tallying one RBI. Jackson Hohensee (Arizona Christian University) earned the win, throwing the final two scoreless innings with five strikeouts, allowing three walks and one hit.

Kenosha 15, Royal Oak 14

Dayton Murphy (Michigan State University) went 3-for-5, scoring three times, tallying one RBI, and four stolen bases. Robert Newland (Kalamazoo College) went 2-for-3, scoring twice with three stolen bases. Ryan Bakes (University of South Carolina) went 2-for-5, including a two-run triple, tallying three RBIs. Jack Dauer (Yale University) went 3-for-5, including an extra-base hit, scoring once, racking up four RBIs, and stealing two bases. Ryan Tyranski (University of Cincinnati) went 2-for-4 with a double, three runs, three RBIs, and one stolen base. Jack Boike (Adrian College) went 3-for-4, scoring twice with two RBIs and one stolen base. Luke Weber (University of Illinois) earned the win, throwing one inning, giving up two runs, two walks, and one hit. Jackson Prentice (McHenry County College) got the save, throwing one scoreless inning with one strikeout, allowing two walks.

Wisconsin Rapids 6, Rockford 5

The Waterloo Rapids walk it off to defeat the Rockford Rivets 6-5 to split the doubleheader series. Noah Ruiz (Biola University) was the hero of the game, having a perfect day at the plate, going 3-for-3, including the walk-off two-run single and a two-run home run, recording five RBIs and one run. Chris Diaz (Marist College) went 2-for-2, scoring twice with one stolen base. Cal Jones (Henderson State University) went 2-for-4, including an extra-base hit and scoring twice. Ethan Delgado (Ecclesia College) went 1-for-1 with one RBI. Tony Torres (Southeastern Louisiana University) earned the win, striking out the last batter of the game.

Waterloo 9, Mankato 8

The Waterloo Bucks take down the Mankato MoonDogs 9-8, despite a late two-run rally ninth inning for the MoonDogs. Marcus Heusohn (McNeese State University) went 1-for-3 with a double, tallying two RBIs and one stolen base. Will Johnson (Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa CC) went 1-for-2, scoring three times with one stolen base. Larry Edwards (McNeese State University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Cannon Peery (Grand Canyon University) went 2-for-5, including a double, scored once, and recorded one RBI. Logan Boenker (Simpson University) earned the win, throwing two scoreless innings, giving up only one walk. Kole Bradley (Eastern Illinois University) got the save, throwing one inning, giving up two hits, two runs, and a walk.

La Crosse 8, Bismarck 5

The La Crosse Loggers rallied in the ninth, scoring three runs to secure the   8-5 win over the Bismarck Larks. Kanon Sundgren (University of Nebraska) went 3-for-4, including an extra-base hit, tallying three RBIs and one stolen base. Ryan Costello (Louisiana State University) went 1-for-4, scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Sydney Ward (Univeristy of New Mexico) went 2-for-4, including a double, scoring once with one RBI. Aaron England (University of Louisville) earned the win, throwing 2.2 perfect innings with four strikeouts. Jack Otis (Central Michigan University) got the save, throwing two innings with two strikeouts, allowing three hits and one run.

Traverse City 10, Kalamazoo 0

The Traverse City Pit Spitters dominate and shut out the Kalamazoo Growlers 10-0. Isaac Sturgess (Michigan State University) 2-for-4, including a double, scoring three times, recording two RBI, and one stolen base. Brandon Sanchez (University of Northern Colorado) was perfect at the plate, going 2-for-2, scoring once with one RBI and one stolen base. Adam Broski (Michigan State University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with two RBIs and one stolen base. Ben Green (Palm Beach Atlantic University) went 3-for-4, scoring once with one RBI. Aiden Brunin (Spring Arbor University) went 1-for-3 with a double and scored twice. Ricky Kidd (University of Michigan) earned the win, throwing 1.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing two hits. Logan Pikur (Michigan State University) set the tone with a solid start, throwing 4.1 scoreless innings with six strikeouts, allowing three hits.
